CHAPTER 9: Poisonous rose

I dumbfounded of my own character's beauty; I had never seen a woman that as beautiful as she is. "Are you going to come in or not ugly duckling?" I heard that annoying voice again that snap me out of the trance. I came inside the room and closed the door behind me and walk towards them, I saw Ashir standing on the other side of and I stand at the middle of both of them. "Just you three?" she asked while sitting down on a chair and staring at us. As soon as she finished her sentence five people also came into the room. Three of them have fear in their eyes others just have a blank stare in their eyes.

"Okay, shall we start then future guards" she said to us and stands up. "The test shall know begin" after she said that 8 glasses of different drink with ice on them "only 5 of you will move on to the room, one by one of you will pick one drink, 3 of these are poisoned, go ahead take one drink and I cannot help you during the game is still on going" she said to us and soon enough one by one all of us took one glass of drinks "now find yourself a partner and exchange drinks with them" she said "how do we know which drinks are poisoned?" they asked "that's the fun part you don't, you all have to find out for yourselves and trust your friends wether it's poisonous or not " she said "if all of you don't exchange drinks right after the sand of my hourglass is gone then none of you all will pass this test, the test starts now" she said to us.

All of us look at each other with suspension in our eyes on which glass has the poison in it. I just sat down on and looking at them, as time pass by the atmosphere around the room became intense. Now, then what should they do "umm... Excuse me" I heard a shaking voice coming from my left and saw one of the boys that had fear in their eyes. "Would you like to be my partner?" he asked me "hey, why should you be his partner?!" said one of the boys and came up to me "how could he know that your drink doesn't have poisoned?!" he said to him.

The boy look like a scared little bunny in front of him "its fine, I'll be your partner, what's your name?" the boy look so happy when I said that "why?" the other asked in confusion "because I want too plus what were playing is gambling game, there is a 75% that we're getting a poisoned glass" I answered him "and you should also find a partner quick the sand is almost gone look" I said to him and pointed at the hourglass. He said a curse word and ran away to find himself a partner. I look at Zagreus and Ashir looks like both of them are partners. Hmmm, are they really- "Abrilon" "what?" "my name, you asked me what my name is" "oh yes, have a sit Abrilon" he took a sit next to me and handed his drink "no not yet" I look at and smiles "why?" he look at me with confusion on his face "cause we're not in a rush there still plenty of time" I smiled at him and heard a boy that started coughing, I look at his direction and saw that he is slowly turning pale "oh dear looks like that drink is poisoned, one done nine more to go" she giggled "aren't you going to help him?" I asked her "I'm in no position to help him, because the game is still going on" she said to me and smiled.

The other boy drank the drink and he smiled cause the drink that he had exchange with him has no poison "you may go to the next room now" he gestured the boy and he went out of the room "now then tik-tok boys" she and smiled. Other boy started coughing and the other on rushed to the door in the to enter the next room. Ashir and Zagreus exchange the drink and drank them both of them were fine and entered the next room. "umm... The sand is running out" Abrilon pointed at the hour glass that only have a little more sand left, I grab his drink and he grab mine and he quickly drink it and he was fine.

He look at me with a worried look "go" I said to him and he rushed to go to the door "aren't you going to drink it?" she said to me "why would I the instructions were just to exchange it, you never said that we should drink it" I smiled at her "your clever" she said to me and gave the three boys the antidote and send them back "tell me why didn't you tell them that they don'thave to drink it?" she asked me "it wouldn't be fun and I want to eliminate the competition" I said to her and walk to the wall covered with vines "do you mind if I took these vines down?" I asked her "no I don't" she answered me and watch my every move.

I took the vines down and used my sword to create a hole on the wall "what are you doing? You know your wrecking my room, right?" she said to me "the get it fix" I said to her. After a few minutes of wrecking the wall, I finally could see the small chest. I grab it and opened it. "Found it" "what's that?" she said behind me "a key and a diary, you can have the diary and the key" I said to her taking it out of the box "why?" "don't you want to know why your lover's last gift to you?" "How do you know-" "take it I only want the box" "fine, I didn't even know that this was here" "yea figures" I got up and walk to the door while carrying the box in my hand and entered the next room.
