Lex, why are you naughty today" Xian said looking at a now 2 year old boy laughing and playing(destroying) with his toys

"Heheheh" the boy looked at him and laughed

"Come on, give him a break, it's his birthday today" Leona said "now come help with the decorations"

"OK, as you say" Xian replied and immediately went to help

Today is my birthday and I'm excited. I watched my parents getting everything ready for the party, so I decided to give them a surprise, I got up on my feet with great difficulty and started walking.

"Mama, mama" I called out, I started talking 2 months ago and it came as a surprise to them.

"Yes baby...oh my god, you're walking, honey look, Lex is walking!" Leona said with tears in her eyes, soon after Xian came and was nudging me to keep coming

'Yes this is wonderful'

"Mama, papa"

I finally made it to them and mom picked me up

"This would be the best birthday ever, I can tell" Leona said

"Yeah, oh let me go get the cake"

"Yeah go go go"

We were all smiles, when we heard a loud explosion that shook the house.

"What is that?" Leona asked and went out to see what happened. After a while, I heard screams so I went to check it out, what I saw was horrifying.

There was blood everywhere, dead bodies and severed limbs were scattered around like rag dolls, my pupils dilated as I walked through the massacre, I didn't know when I started crying, my breathing became ragged and my heartbeat sped up as I searched for mom, I couldn't walk straight again and started staggering, because of this I fell over a couple times and now I was covered in blood.

"Mama, mama, mama, wahhhhh" I called out but got no reply. After a few minutes of walking I heard sounds of a battle near me, I quickly went there and saw my mom covered in blood still fighting with a masked opponent equally covered in blood and cuts.

"Give up, you'll never have my son" my mom shouted as she launched an attack

"Never, that boy must die!" Said the masked person

Reality dawned on me and I fell over again making them aware of my presence

"Heh, I have power for two more attacks, if I die, both of you die with me" as she said that she created 2 earth spikes, one directed towards me and the other towards mom. Mom used all of her remaining mama to create a giant wind blade and sliced the spike heading towards her and ran over to me, the wind blade sliced through the spike and continued on slicing the masked person, at the same time mom made it to me and stood in front of me. I watched as the spike pierced her heart as tears rolled down her face

"Happy birthday, baby" that was the last thing she said before falling limply on the blood covered ground.

"Mama? Mama, mama, mama!! Wahhhhh" I was filled with dread as I zoned out and the next thing I knew, I was also hitting the ground not sure if I was dead or alive.

Xian Quints (POV)

I walked out of the building, heading towards the bakery with a smile on my face.

"He finally called my name, haha" the only thing in my head right now was my son walking and calling my name, it filled me with so much joy, I can't wait to see his smiling face again.

I walked into the bakery and found Ms. Tina where she always is, the counter.

"Hi, Ms. Tina" I said

"Hi, Mr. Quints, I believe you're here for the cake"

"Yeah"

"I'm sure little Lex would love it"

"I hope he does" I said as she walked to the back and came back with a carefully packaged cake

"Here you go" she said

"Thanks" I said and walked out of the bakery heading home.

Along the way, I met with my team of adventurers. Jake, Bale and Johnny, they were all B ranked adventurers, I was the only A rank among them. Together we headed back home.

The first thing I noticed as we approached home was the smell of blood in the air.

"Do you smell that?" Bale asked

"Yeah, blood" I said in a lower voice and immediately dashed home, my team following close behind. The sight that was in front of me was horrifying and I dropped the cake
