As they walked back to the house after a while of just strolling around the land, she found it quite still, as if nobody was around. The lights were still on, but all signs of the meal they feasted earlier were all cleared, and the kitchen was spotless.
She wondered where they all went. She suddenly thought that maybe they already retired to their rooms. They were in the countryside where people here might sleep earlier than city folks that she was used to experience.
"How come we are all alone? Where are Susan and Diana?" She finally voiced out her curiosity as she moved around the house, and there was still no sign of them.
"They went back home." He said simply as if that was the only logical explanation for it. When he saw her confused state with his answer, he decided to elaborate some more. "They are not staying in this house. My grandfather built a house for Susan's family just a few meters from here. She is now living there with her family."
