Demonic Croaks
The eerie stillness was almost suffocating. Each step Johan took felt weighted, as though he was wading through an invisible mire. Muffled sounds of the swamp were occasionally interrupted by a pervasive croak, echoing with an unsettling resonance. The very sound seemed to stick to Johan's skin, like cold droplets from an unseen mist.
'What is that noise?' he wondered, trying to locate its origin. The swamp seemed to pulse with each croak, the ambiance growing more oppressive. 'It's not just a sound... it's affecting the environment.'
Emerging from the thickening fog, a figure materialized, a grotesque silhouette painted against the grey backdrop. The toad that stood before Johan was a monstrous amalgamation of nightmare and reality. Its skin glowed with an otherworldly luminance, casting an eerie green light on its surroundings. The eyes, blood-red and unblinking, stared with a chilling intensity, while an aura of malevolence seemed to ripple from it, distorting the very air.
