Darkness Beckons
The sensation of leaving the fourth floor felt like being wrapped in a blanket of impenetrable night. Every beam of light, every trace of warmth, was rapidly smothered. The trio's footsteps, once confident and resonant, were now uncertain whispers against a cold, unseen floor.
'Is this what oblivion feels like?' Johan wondered, reaching out, trying to find a reference in the unyielding void.
"Danny? Ken? Are you there?" Johan called out, his voice hesitant.
From the suffocating blackness, Ken replied, his voice tinged with unease, "I'm here. It's as if the very essence of light has been banished."
Danny added, "It's unsettling. We need to stick close and move carefully."
As they continued, Johan's eyes strained to make out any detail, any shape that might give them a clue. But as they progressed, a faint, eerie luminescence began to emanate from the ground, illuminating winding pathways fraught with gaping chasms.
