Birth Of The Undead Army (1)

Xiu! Xiu..!

Two blurs of red light zoomed across the skies of Hell's Tower's Fourth Floor. The duo had finally exited the desert region, after a few hours of flying. One must understand how large this desert region is if it had truly taken them hours to exit.

They were capable of traveling millions of kilometers in a few breaths of time if they wanted yet, still, it had taken some hours. Right after the desert, an incredibly tall city wall spanning indefinitely could be seen. It was tall, so much so, it seem to reach the skies.

These walls radiated with a mysterious energy. To others, it would bring an unknown fear from the depth of their souls. As if the death god himself resided inside the walls of this city. As if his army was present, waiting to reap the souls of any unlucky and foolish fellow wanting to enter.

To Saber and Adrianna, it only brought a smile to their faces. Saber's arms grasped at the air, pulling it, and a massive tear appeared in the world, shockingly, the world seemed to form a crack, opening the Void and stepping into it, Adrianna followed.

Though she didn't understand this ability, by the time she realized what happened, her figure was already standing inches away from the massive city walls.

"What was that?" Adrianna couldn't help but ask. Saber smugly replied, "Normally, to teleport, I'll need to sense my location and where I want to teleport but, now, once I've got an idea of the place I want to be, hehe, I can travel to that place via the Void as I like to call it..!"

She was fairly accustomed to Saber's ability to defy common sense so, she didn't bother trying to understand. Unlike others who had one or two elements, three if they're supremely talented, Saber had countless elements. She hadn't seen his limit yet.

The duo assessed their surroundings. In front of them were the city gates that were closed. Placing his hand on it...

Boom!

The city gates were blasted to smithereens by a ball of condensed flames that exploded upon contact with the gate. Saber's eyes laid bare on what was passed the gates, a city filled with people, or not... He couldn't say they were exactly people.

It didn't matter if they were humanoid, ten feet monsters, furred beasts, or ugly mutated lifeforms, they all had dark gray skin, dead dull lifeless eyes, and exuded an aura that could only be described as DEATH.

Upon Saber's attention-gathering entrance, all gazes of the tens of thousands in the surrounding area fell on Saber and Adrianna. He hadn't expected this when he blew away the gates, yes it was slightly stupid but, he had enough strength to use brute force for everything... well, at least, this was what he thought.

Every one of these figures. "I can't sense their cultivation." Saber said. Adrianna also shook her head as she replied, "It seems our luck isn't good at all. From the little that master has taught me, I can say I've some knowledge of certain, unnatural races and, this is one of them!"

Thrum!

"These people should be the undead. Unlike us vampires, the undead with grey skin and Death aura reeking from them should be created. Created from a Litch, they're known as neigh impossible to kill as in fact, they'll continue to respawn even after being obliterated once the Litch is alive."

"The worst part is, the older a Litch is, the harder it is to kill it since, to kill a Litch, one must kill it as many times as the amount of undead it has under control. Using this city as an example, I presume the Litch has already transformed tens or even hundreds of millions of people. So, we'll need to kill it that many times..!"

This...

"Well, I'll simply devour it." Saber was confident that his devouring ability would work. "No, Litch's don't have blood. So, we can't devour them." Upon hearing this, Saber wanted to burst into laughter. Who told this girl the two of them were the same? Or did she get deceived due to the fact he changed the color of his pupils to match the crimson of vampires...

Tch!

"Let's just go kill the thing!" Saber replied. His figure disappeared. Adrianna was the only one remaining as the undead tried preventing Saber from trying to enter further into the city but, they were simply too slow.

Adrianna followed right behind. Both trotted deeper into the city, from the Outer region where those Undead were unable to perceive their speed, to the Inner region where some Undead were able to block their path.

BOOM!

These Undeads would explode into a black mist with a mere swipe from Saber's hand. Who told them to get in the way of someone so monstrously strong?

Someone who, after devouring the Sand Demon King, had reached an unbelievable level of raw brute force. One who was an Undead barely in the Profound Immortal realm was stupid to try and face Saber.

The ones that were blown to black mist, would later reform, perfectly fine as if nothing happened.

He who sensed this immediately felt the desire to gain this ability. Now that he was a True Lifeform instead of a flesh and blood lifeform, he wasn't truly invulnerable.

If one was to destroy his heart, like he had destroyed the heart of his clone or even his brain, then he'll surely die. But, with this ability, hehe... he'll be unstoppable. Just imagining it made him smile crazily.

While he thought this, and Adrianna looked at his mad smirk with a confused expression, the duo reached the Core of this city where they saw tens of thousands of Undead in the skies waiting for them.

Unlike the past regions of this city, the core had much fewer people but, after reaching a certain level of strength, it wasn't numbers that mattered but quality. Even though it was merely a few tens of thousands of Undead, the mysterious Death aura they radiated crashed down onto Saber's and Adrianna's bodies.

Unable to hide from Saber's senses, was a cloaked figure standing at the back of this few tens of thousands of Undead. Waving his hand in the air, a sword with a long thing blade appeared in his hand.

Immediately, the tens of thousands of Undeads in the skies rushed toward the duo. Adrianna's face couldn't help but contort into a frown. This time, most of her power was useless. The ability to grow stronger during the battle wouldn't work, these people didn't have blood upon being revived.

Sigh!

Everywhere she went, upon making contact with this one named Saber, she had met nothing but endless danger. She understood how dangerous and neigh Immortal those Litch monsters were, and Saber's arrogance, it only seemed like overconfidence.

'He probably hasn't faced many defeats in his life so he has unbound arrogance and confidence in his strength, even if it may be misplaced.'

Behind the army of tens of thousands, the hooded figure of what seemed to be a humanoid skeleton around three to four meters tall had a wooden staff in his hand.

The wooden staff gave one an uncomfortable feeling as hovering over it was a skeleton that glowed with a dark green light.

Waving his hand, his dark robe fluttered, revealing his skeleton forearm as a wave of dark green energy rushed out of the skeleton's mouth. Covering the skies, it rushed toward Saber's location as Adrianna had a fearful expression on her face upon seeing it..!
