Lesson 6: Dreamland

I wake up, because someone was knocking on the door. After standing up, I open it. Outside was a little girl, looking lost. I ask her what's wrong and she doesn't answer. Her eyes were filled with tears. I thought she might've lost her parents somewhere, so I lead her to the main hall.

I try to introduce her to the the receptionist, but the entire room is empty. I look around, but the only thing I spot is the windows. They are pitch black. I think it might be night.

G:" That's not it."

D:" No it isn't. That girl has a tremendous amount of power."

G:" She might even be stronger than me, on closer looks. It doesn't seem like she has bad intentions."

V:" What do I do?"

D:" Speak to her. We are not getting out here without her consent anyway."

I already tried asking her what's wrong earlier, so I try to speak normally.

V:" Hey.. Do you mind telling me your name?"

?:" I don't have a name. But you can call me Morpheus."

The Voice has a weird echo after it and she sounds way older than she looks.

V:" And.. What do you want from me?"

M:" I... I didn't want to feel your dreams anymore."

V:" What? Is that why you cried?"

M:" Yes. I feel the feelings of anyone dormant that is close to me. You slept in the same room."

V:" And what am I doing here now?"

M:" I dragged you here to offer you something. I feel both the presences in your mind. Both very strong. Yet, they have nothing to do with your dreams."

V:" What is that offer?"

M:" I want all dreams to be pleasant. I cannot control them perfectly on strong people, as they accidentally block my magic. You are too strong for me to control in any way, that's why I want you to contract with me."

V:" Contract?"

M:" Yes. You already have one contract, you are strong enough for a second one. Don't worry. I know you need strength. I can add quite some"

V:" Why would you be willing to help me?"

M:" Of course I want something in return. I want you to help me exterminate those who cause such dreams."

V:" This was my intention to begin with."

M:" You see, matching interests."

*Yes*

Magic flows through me again, this time not burning me this time. Instead, it drags me into dream after dream. Some beautiful and benevolent, some dire and suffocating. I try to breath and calm, but the neverending flow of dreams doesn't let me.

As I wake up a second time today I see a purple light with golden streaks in it, coming out of my hands. I look at it and it vanishes. I stand up, my head clear of any thoughts. A feeling I had forgotten in the time with Dall and Gilgamesh. I look in the mirror and my right eye, which used to be green - like the other one - is now purple. I try closing it, but nothing changes.

I close the other eye and see stats, names history and thoughts of everything near. Thoughts? I was looking at a bed, but I heard thoughts?

M:" Those are the thoughts of people with memories on this bed. I suppose that's what you are wondering about. This is one of my abilities."

V:" What else? I'm very interested."

M:" Of course you are! Dreams are wonderful after all."

V:" Ummm..."

M:" There is a few things left. I can put people into dreams of my choice, for example. I can make them sleep, or make them think their dream is real. With enough magical power, I can even make the dreams real."

V:" Isn't that... A bit unfair?"

M:" For human measures, yes."

V:" Can I test it out?"

M:" I recommend to, but don't try it on humans. You might stuck them in their dream, controlling your amount of magic needs more practice."

We go to the dungeon to test the new magic on goblins. I imagine a dream and try sending it to them. A few seconds later, the hit goblin starts acting weirdly. The dreams I imagine come true for the the goblins, apparently. I tried a bit harder and the monsters of the dream actually hurt the goblin. Once again, they are invisible, due to Dall's magic. I have earned a whole new arsenal of combination. I suppose trying it in a quest is the easiest way to test its strength.
