Their resolve

"Damn snotlout, what are you doing!?" - Chen Xiao was so angry that he shouted. Just a few minutes ago, he was ready to become the enemy of the Liang Clan, but for what? What's this situation all about?

He saw his useless son holding Liang Si Yao's hand tightly as if they didn't agree to canceling the marriage just a short while ago...

His anger was like a match thrown into kerosene.

'Damn it!' - Chen Ge swore to himself. He understood what it looked like. After a little silence, he walked over to Chen Xiao and whispered in his ear:

"If you agree to this wedding I will do what you have always wanted me to do."

Chen Xiao flinched and looked at Chen Ge in a daze. After a little while, he sighed. He didn't say anything, but he was clearly very upset; shortly after, he left.

Watching his father leave, Chen Ge smiled crookedly, then he looked at Liang Zheng, who was not much different from Chen Xiao sitting with a grim expression on his face.

But, before Chen Ge could say anything, Liang Si Yao was the first to speak:

"Are you against this marriage?" - She asked emotionlessly.

The smile on Liang Si Yao's face disappeared when she looked at Liang Zheng, even making him think that it was all his delusion.

Frowning, Liang Zheng replied:

"Do you still want to marry him? The Chen Clan insulted us, but instead of severing all ties with him you…" - Suddenly he stopped.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The temperature of the room cooled sharply until the room was completely covered in ice.

A sense of rage overwhelmed Liang Si Yao, Chen Ge finally decided to accept her as his woman, but this man tried to ruin everything.

Noticing the murderous intent in her eyes, Chen Ge was briefly stunned, but he still reacted immediately, as he felt that she wanted to kill Liang Zheng.

"I will abandon the Liang Clan. I will marry him today and no one will be able to prevent it, not even you, father." - Liang Si Yao replied instantly, as if she had no hesitation at all.

Liang Si Yao just like Chen Ge had transferred into another body, she had no feelings for Liang Zheng and didn't see him as a father figure, so leaving the clan was quite an easy decision for her.

"You... Alright... Just fine... If you really want to marry him then go ahead!" - shouted the enraged patriarch, he knocked over the chair he was sitting on and left.

The wedding that was supposed to go off like clockwork, before it even started, was bursting at its seams, both clans were adamantly against it.

Of course, their not agreeing didn't affect Chen Ge's or Liang Si Yao's decision, because even if everyone in the world was against it, it was still theirs decision.

"Chen Ge, what's going on with you? What happened for you to change your decision just like that?" - No sooner had Chen Ge returned back to the clan to prepare for the wedding ceremony than his father arrived with a questioning frown.

Even though Chen Xiao said nothing in the Liang Clan, he had many questions for his son.

"Father, don't ask anything, I can only say that our feelings are mutual." - Briefly replied Chen Ge.

Chen Xiao was surprised. He would never have thought that the ice princess of the Liang Clan, Liang Si Yao, would answer to his son's feelings. But, remembering her smile as she looked at Chen Ge and the way they embraced each other, suddenly a soft smile appeared on his face and he slowly nodded.

"Good."

Chen Xiao wanted to break up this marriage for one reason only, their feelings were not mutual and such a marriage was not bound to last very long. One of the parties would eventually cheat or just divorce and that was not what he wanted for his son.

Therefore, he did not hesitate to agree to Chen Ge's proposal to break up the marriage, but now it seems like it was all useless.

Their feelings were surprisingly reciprocated, even though it appeared way too sudden for his liking, but Chen Xiao believed it. The bright gleam in Liang Si Yao's eyes was proof enough for him, the kind of look only found in women who were deeply in love.

After receiving a satisfactory answer, Chen Xiao muttered something and left the room. He needed to prepare for the wedding ceremony that he originally didn't really want to attend.

"Do you know you're an idiot? When you told father that you wanted to break up the wedding, I thought that you finally pulled yourself together, but now... I know about what happened in the Liang Clan. I didn't expect that your feelings would be reciprocated, I was wrong to worry about you. Now that Liang Si Yao is in love with you and you're marrying her, you must be very happy?"

"Heh." - Chen Ge grinned. - "I just decided for myself that I won't run away anymore and I'll take all the consequences."
