Chapter 34 [The talk]

[ Alan I caught the rabbit] the creepy hand behind said. Thank god it was Freya, the thing she did right now is the next thing that creeps me about her, I can't detect her, since she doesn't have any intentions to harms me, and thus she always creeps behind me and scares the shit out of me.

[Good girl] I said as I took the rabbit.

[So my gift?] Freya inquired as she stretched out her hand forward.

It was the bet I made to distract her, so I needed to give her something otherwise she may tell about today's event to her mom, and then her mom will tell it to my mom and that would mean a ban to come to this forest area. What can I give her ? Do I have something? thinking about this I ruffled through my small pockets that had nothing except some stones and my throwing knife both of which were useless for her. Seeing my misery the old hag smiled widely.

"Hey you old hag you can give me something right," I thought loudly and since witches can hear mental surface thoughts she heard me loud and clear. " and before you ask for a prize in exchange I will give you a maximum of 2 strands of my hair for your crazy research" ...

" really then I can give you something worth 2 ... no you are very sly 5 silver coins worth of material," said an old hag in my brain.

"Just give me a hairpin or earing or something feminine and fast," I said and with that, an earing appeared in my hand.

[here is your gift, I know you would win] I said as I presented an emerald-colored, clover-shaped earring to her. Seeing that she forget the rabbit that she just caught and jumped up and down holding those earrings.

"those cheap earrings for 5 silver and you call me sly... I ain't even giving you shit from my body in exchange" I shouted in my brain.

"you know about witches ... might even more than that I know and now you are saying you will go back on the words you said to a witch, the exchange was done as soon as you said those words. " showing me two strands of hair she disappeared.

[No let's go home I played enough for today, did you enjoy playing with me.] I said with a smile on my face.

[Yes, I enjoyed it very much ... Alan is the best.] she said, and with that, she happily hopped away like a rabbit just like in my hand.

Soon I reached home with a rabbit in my hand, mom welcomed me with a warm smile, and just as she saw the rabbit in my hand she checked my body upside down for any injury.

[Hey I told you don't didn't I, to leave the job of hunting to your papa or uncle ] said my mother after putting me down.

[ I know but this rabbit came towards me and pounced on me while I and Freya played together.] I said with my puppy eye mode on.

[I won't let this slide this is your warning no hunting unless and until you can have a pseudo mana core and that also under your father supervision.] declared mother and in this household, they are like an iron wall, no one can break it and none shall pass through it.

[So where is papa] I asked my mother.

[Oh you think your papa can bail you out of this situation, if yes you are in serious misconception.] said mother with pride on her nose.

[my beautiful and charming mother I always do the things you tell me so let this one slide for once ok, I promise I will not repeat it again.] I said with puppy eyes and with a deadly combination of one teary eye. My two most leather weapons at once and sure-shot in next second mother was covering my whole face with her kisses.

[Oh what happened, did Alan do something amazing without me being here.] father came from the top first floor which was now his cabin for imaging the village affair, to spend time with his family that had a newly born child (me) he asked previous village chief and village council or elders for permission to move village file to his house and they happily agreed. I later came to know that the old hag took a bribe from dad in return for her vote and under her oppression all others agreed, how much sly can my papa be, but still since he loves my mother and she loves her I never told my mother about that.

[Today your dear son caught a rabbit] said mother breaking my chain of thoughts.

[Oh that's grea.. means terrible how could you do that] said papa under the sharp gaze of the mother. Well now I know even a sly fox is a kitten at home.

[I know you want to scold me but I already promised mom that I would not do it again so don't scold me now. I need to tell you something more interesting and shocking so can we go inside and sit then talk.] I said, mother father looked at each other and decided to head towards the hall where there is a sofa set to sit.

[so let me ask first did you cathed that rabbit alone and did you beat the living crap out of it.] whispered papa in my ears while picking me up in his embrace. normally I would have not allowed him to pick me up, but I soon realized that papa is kind of a cool man and whenever we do little men-to-men talk he always whispers in my ears so the mother couldn't hear us.

[yes and I beat it with the single swipe of my knife it was totally cool.] I said pretending to show my actions that I never did.

[that's like a maverick, but next time we will go hunting together till you grow big enough. ok deal.] father said while stretching his hand out, so we shook our hands fixing the deal men's style.

[So you two had your chat I guess] whispered mother in my father's ears. and that I could hear perfectly after that blessing at witch house.

[ Yes I talked to him and took a men's oath of honor.] whispered father.

[oh silly, you are still a boy.] said mother while laughing. well I know my father could not hide anything from my mother, even it's difficult for me to hide these many things from mom and not to ask so many more but I do it and I am just a small boy, so being an adult he should have honored men's oath.
