Outside Fengdu City.
Yibai descended upon a mountaintop.
Upon arrival, his eyes met the Great Emperor of Fengdu and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva seated at the summit, both chanting sutras with no intention of confrontation.
It seemed both were aware of Yibai's approach, and as he arrived, they ceased their chanting in unison.
"Heavenly Lord."
Both the Great Emperor of Fengdu and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva rose to their feet and addressed him with the honorific title of Heavenly Lord.
"You two, why chant sutras here?"
Yibai chuckled lightly, his demeanor showing not the slightest hint of enmity, composed and serene.
"The strength of the Great Emperor of Fengdu and I are evenly matched, making it exceedingly difficult to determine a victor; thus, we simply sit here, facing each other," said Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva with an unrestrained smile.
The implacable gaze of the Great Emperor of Fengdu was fixed on Yibai, yet he remained silent.
