Departure II

The middle-aged man paid the guards no heed.

He put his coat on the coat rack and walked towards his office table. He picked up the telephone on the side and dialed a number.

Then, he placed the telephone over his ear, looking outside the window as he waited for the person he was contacting.

Riiing~ Rrring~

"Are the preparations over?" The middle-aged man asked.

[Yes, Mr. President! We have sent our people to the ports and airports all over the United States. We have also ensured that we would be able to report to you in real-time as soon as we saw something off.] The person on the other side of the call reported orderly.

"Good, keep up the good work." The middle-aged man said before putting down the telephone.

Looking at the blue sky, the middle-aged man smirked. 'Oh Ren, Oh Ren, Oh Ren~ Did you really think you could escape from me? I already knew that you have moved your son away from the hospital! Although I don't know how you did it, considering the countless medical apparatus that's on him, you wouldn't be able to make it far!'

In fact, he knew that it would be unlikely for them to be able to leave the country. However, he would never underestimate Ren again. Thus, in order to make sure that Ren wouldn't escape his clutches, he made sure to seal off all the exits around the country.

After a long time of travelling, Zen, who still had his face glued to the window, could finally see a massive building in the distance.

Zoooom~!!

Startled, he looked up to see where the sound came from. He saw a giant airplane which quickly flew through the sky, producing a loud noise as it did so.

"Huh!? What happened!? Where are we!?! I don't want to die!" Sera, who was woken up by the loud noise of the airplane, became stricken with panic.

She looked around hysterically, but was surprised to find out that she was still inside the car.

"Ack..!" A light assaulted her eyes, causing her to hurriedly cover it with her hands.

"Pfft…! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!"

Hearing the laughter around her, it didn't take long for Sera to find out that she had been tricked.

Looking at the cellphone on her brother's hand, she pouted in anger. "Arghhh… I really hate you!!!"

"I-Ahaha… I-I'm sorry… I just can't…!!" Zen struggled to speak as he laughed. The look on his sister's face made it hard for him to calm down.

"You better delete that!!"

"Hehe, no way!"

Zen continued laughing while Sera was using her tiny fists to beat her brother's chest.

At this moment, Rina woke up too. Ren saw this and a thought immediately popped into his mind. 'It's time for revenge…'

He glanced at his children, seeing that they were distracted, he smiled evilly. He parked the car to the side and looked at his sleepy wife with unkind intentions.

Rina, who was still sleepy, was still assessing the situation around her when…

…a kiss landed on her lips.

After the family got out of the car, Ren walked to the side and made a call.

Zen and Sera looked around. They seemed to be in a deserted area. Building surrounded the area which made it so that they were not seen by people.

'Hahhh~ Is this what air outside tastes like?' Zen thought as he breathed heavily. Since the mainstream vehicles and factories all operated through eco energy, the air pollution decreased by a huge degree.

This caused the air in the heavily-populated cities to be clean. Of course, the air in forests and other places that were closer to nature were still fresher than those in heavy-populated areas.

While Zen continued to look around, Sera noticed her flushed mother and worriedly asked, "Mom, do you have a fever?"

"Ah–!" Surprised, Rina unwittingly let out a soft yelp. She looked at her daughter and said while feeling her cheeks with her hand, "No, I'm not. Why did you ask?"

Her mother always wore a playful look. Now that Sera saw her flustered for real, she found it quite funny. "Really? Your cheeks are quite red, that's why I was worried."

Zen, who was at the side, saw their interaction and pondered, 'Hmmm… what did dad do~??'

At this instance, they saw Ren walking back towards them.

"They said that they were coming to get us."

The siblings, especially Zen, became excited.

After a short while, a woman wearing flight attendant attire exited one of the buildings that surrounded the area where they were.

Then, she walked towards them before looking at Ren and Rina."Are you Mr. and Mrs Alcantra?"
