For all of her fear of being lost in these corridors, once she picked herself back up, she found her feet simply carried her down the familiar path she'd walked back and forth with Vaughn a few times now.
When she found herself back at that familiar turn off toward Caleb's room...
For just a moment.
She thought she might have seen a flicker of movement in the corner of her eye, somewhere far in the distant corridor.
It was too dark for her to be certain that it was him and not just her imagination, but...
She took a step toward that darkness.
There wasn't any point in chasing him. She really would get lost if she did that, and he'd no doubt slip away easily, given she had no idea what that direction even led to.
But she did call out to him.
"...Thank you, Vaughn."
There wasn't any sign of a response, or that anyone had heard her at all.
Still, she bit her lip, and pushed onward.
