Note: this is chapter 9, sorry.
Takeshi sang his heart out using the new microphone, a one-time possession of Tsubasa. However, only he could hear his voice. While Takeshi sang, Nobita, Shizuka, Doraemon, and the others stifled giggles. With closed eyes, Takeshi sang; occasionally, when he opened his eyes, Nobita and the others held back their laughter. Seeing their smiles, he believed they genuinely loved his singing.
As Takeshi continued to sing passionately, Nobita and the others decided to stop mocking Takeshi and began talking to Ken. Over time, Ken mentioned, "By the way, Suneo, we're going to be neighbors now." He shared his new address as "Nerima Ward, Tsukimidai, Susukigahara, 3 Chome 10 Banchi, and 6 Go."
"What? Your family's moving beside our house?" Suneo asked, astonished.
"Yes, that's right. We've relocated there. Although our house is slightly smaller than yours," I confirmed.
"Oh, come on! Your house is still quite spacious," Suneo disagreed.
Shizuka eagerly inquired, "Does that mean your family is wealthy now, Ken-chan?"
Ken chuckled modestly, saying, "Haha, not exactly wealthy. Our family invested in some successful companies."
"That does sound like you're wealthy," Suneo said, admiringly.
"Which company did your family invest in, Ken-kun?" Dekisugi inquired.
Suneo also looked at Ken, expecting an answer.
Meanwhile, Doraemon remained unfazed, while Nobita began to feel overwhelmed by terms like "invest." It all seemed rather complex to him.
He wanted to ask, but he noticed that everyone, including Shizuka, knew what it meant except for him. So, he patiently waited for Ken's response, just like the others.
"My family invested in Google and some other companies," Ken said, devoid of arrogance.
"Wow!" Suneo exclaimed, shocked.
"What's the matter, Suneo-kun?" Doraemon inquired, unaware of Suneo's reason for reacting so strongly.
"Yeah, why the surprise, Suneo?" Nobita chimed in, equally puzzled.
Not only them, but Shizuka and Dekisugi were also bewildered.
Dekisugi had a computer at home, so he recognized the Google company. It was a reliable search site that he often used. However, despite his intelligence, he didn't fully comprehend that Google, a seemingly simple search site, could amass incredible wealth. Thus, he found Suneo's reaction exaggerated.
"Why wouldn't I be shocked!? It's Google!" Suneo retorted, not caring if Takeshi noticed their lack of attention to his singing.
"Yeah, Google. What about it?" Nobita asked casually as he munched on a snack.
"What do you mean, 'What about it!?' Hehehe... Maybe everyone except Ken-chan knows," Suneo smugly grinned, relishing the opportunity to flaunt his knowledge, particularly to the nerdy Dekisugi.
Nobita, Doraemon, Shizuka, and Dekisugi exchanged looks, observing Suneo's oddly villainous smirk.
Ken sighed helplessly, not expecting this show-off to be knowledgeable about Google.
"So, what is Google?" Nobita straightforwardly questioned.
Doraemon, Shizuka, and Dekisugi also awaited Suneo's answer.
"Google is a company from the United States of America," Suneo began, attempting an American accent for "United States of America," but his strong Japanese accent prevailed. He continued, "Do you even know what that means? The company comes from the US! A SUPERPOWER COUNTRY!"
Everyone nodded blankly, not grasping Suneo's intentions. While they understood the US was a superpower, they didn't see the significance for a company. What was so astonishing about it?
Ken felt embarrassed on Suneo's behalf.
"Seems like none of you are getting it. It's not just a USA-based company, but also one of the largest firms globally! Its net worth is mind-boggling! Its stock price has surged more than most companies in recent years!" Suneo exclaimed, his tone implying a revelatory discovery.
Only now were they truly shocked. Doraemon ceased eating his doriyaki, imagining how, if he had invested in Google, he could have earned a substantial amount of money, enabling him to buy countless doriyaki. He would practically be swimming in them.
True, with his time machine, he might know about the 21st-century futures and apply them in this timeline. However, the time police secretly monitor him from time to time. If they were to detect that he cheated and violated the laws of time, he would be persecuted across all timelines, possibly endangering Nobita's family.
While Nobita was taken aback by the revelation that Google was one of the largest companies globally, he didn't comprehend the subsequent terms. Net worth? Stock price? Nani?
As usual, Shizuka had her hand covering her mouth, her eyes widening in astonishment.
Dekisugi also felt surprised but quickly regained his composure. To him, it seemed normal. He frequently used Google on his computer, relying on it whenever he encountered something he didn't understand. Information would instantly appear with a simple search. Given how useful of a tool it was, it wasn't surprising that it had become such a massive company.
