Chapter 47

Since I was already late for school, there was no point in going to school anymore. So I decided not to waste any more time, so I headed to OzCorp.

Fifteen minutes later I was already standing at the foot of the building, and for the first time I decided to take a closer look at it. After all, technically this entire building now belonged to me.

The building was incredibly tall and modern. And because of the many glass panels, it glistened incredibly in the sunlight. The floor that had been destroyed in our previous battle with the Goblin had already been completely renovated.

Deciding that I would still have time to admire it in the future, I stepped inside. I saw a huge crowd of people walking back and forth behind the glass panels. In front of which stood a rather long stand with the logo, and behind it a man and a woman that greeted everyone who wanted to go inside.

- Hello, what is your reason for coming to OzCorp? - The woman greeted me smilingly and professionally.

- Um, I don't know how to put it more precisely, but from now on you can consider me your boss. - I calmly stated the reason for my visit.

- Uh, excuse me. But I guess I misunderstood you a little bit. - a confused expression appeared on the woman's face.

- Ehhh, here are all the inheritance and transfer documents. Please contact OzCorp's lawyer so he can come down and authenticate them. - I laid out the folder in front of her with the documents inside, then stepped aside and sat down to rest on the couch.

Suddenly my phone rang. Looking at the screen, I saw Gwen's name there, so I answered the call without delay.

- Hello Peter! - sounded in the receiver ringing voice of a girl.

- Hi Gwen. I missed you. - I greeted the answer.

- Uh, if you missed me, you would have come to school. You wouldn't have run off with Liz on a secret date. - she reprimanded me, with obvious jealousy in her voice.

- If only..." I sighed tiredly.

- Liz... it turns out she's an x-gene, or "mutant" in other words. This morning her abilities got out of control. So her mother decided to transfer her to a special school for her kind. That's why I saw her off, because now we won't see each other much because of the distance between us. - I quickly told her everything.

- Oh, how about that! Peter, you should visit her at the first opportunity! It must be hard for her in a strange environment and with strange people.

- Oh, I know. As soon as I get OzCorp sorted out, I'll go and see her.

- OzCorp? And there, then what did you forget? - Gwen wondered.

- Huh, it turns out Norman Osborne, Harry's father, left me his company as an inheritance. I don't know how he got it into his head, but now I'm dealing with the consequences. I'm waiting for their lawyer to go over the paperwork, and then I'm going to the board meeting. - I sounded reluctant, but there was nothing to do. I had to dig into this shit.

- Okay, Peter, I won't bother you anymore. I better call Liz and see how she's doing. Oh, yeah, MJ asked about you today. And she seemed really interested in you. I didn't know you were such a womanizer. It's not enough for the two of us, is it? - Gwen hung up the phone without giving me a chance to explain, but whatever...

- Excuse me, are you Mr. Peter Parker? - A man's voice sounded at that moment.

When I looked up, I saw a middle-aged man in a business suit. He had a lot of gray hair on his head and his face was wrinkled.

- Yes, and you? - I asked, and then I saw the folder with my documents in his hand.

- My name is Thomas Wilson. As you may have already guessed, I'm a lawyer for OzCorp. It's a pleasure to meet our new boss. - He extended his hand to me.

- I take it you've already checked all the documents for authenticity, am I right? - I shook it in return.

- Of course. One look was enough for me. After all, I was the one who drew up all those documents at the behest of the late Norman Osborne.

- Well, then, can you tell me when I can meet with the board of directors? They're my colleagues, after all.

- Uh, I wouldn't be so sure about coworkers. Sad as it may be. But the current board has been grinding its teeth for a change in power for a long time. Norman Osborne was supposed to be off the board by now. But because of the terrorist attack, many of those who opposed him died. And he was firmly planted in the chair, because now there were only six shareholders. Seventy percent of the shares were in Norman's hands, twenty-five in the hands of the shareholders and five on the stock exchange.

- But unfortunately, Norman Osborne had died and the board had rebelled again. By any means necessary, they want to take the company out of the hands of whoever gets it.

- That's how it is. It's okay, I'm no stranger to it. So, when can I get to the office and meet with the board?

- Uh, tomorrow. Today we'll do the paperwork, grant access and notify the board. And then tomorrow you can show up at lunchtime ready to go.

- Well, then I won't be much longer. I'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye, Mr. Wilson. - I said goodbye to him and started walking toward the exit.

- See you soon, Mr. Parker! - the man also replied.

I didn't need to go home, so I went to a cafe and ordered a snack and started looking for information on the Internet about the remaining shareholders of OzCorp.

It took me only ten minutes to find the information, after which I finished my coffee and went to Kingpin with the data.

Ten minutes later.

Dressed in a suit, I hovered in front of the window of the criminal kingpin, who at the sight of me immediately gave the order to open it.

- Hi Kingpin, did you miss me? - I sat down on the couch and went inside.

- Not really, if you're after money, tell me how much you need. - He said grudgingly, realizing there was nothing he could do.

- No, I don't need money. There's a job in your specialty.

- Hmm, what is it? - Instantly his face relaxed with the realization that his money would be safe.

- A friend of mine inherited OzCorp. He wants the remaining shareholders to give their shares to him. The meeting is tomorrow. So you have 24 hours to work this out.

- If you can deliver, you can count on one-time assistance.

As soon as Fisk heard this, a jubilant smile appeared on his face. He was probably already thinking about how he could use my powers.

- Ah yes. I suggest you stay away from my friend if you don't want any trouble. - I flew out the window with peace of mind.....
