Haze is a teenage boy who is constantly bullied at school. One day he is approached by the lord of the underworld who tells him he has been chosen to be his heir. Now Haze must accept his fate and help Hades conquer all his enemies This book follows his journey as he navigates the new world of magic he is introduced too and changes from the weak scrawny boy to the strong, all powerful heir of hades. ———————————— NOTE: This book is a medium paced book which means sometimes it will progress rapidly and other times it will seem to crawl but I try my best to balance the speed. i feel obligated to say that the first 20 chapters may drag but I PROMISE FROM chapter 21 it becomes a very interesting read, so stick around, don’t be too quick to judge the book.

[Leveling up]

Haze watched the screen, waiting for something to happen to him now that he was leveling up but nothing happened, the only change was on the screen.

[Level up complete]

"That's it?", Haze said aloud. He was disappointed as he expected something more dramatic to happen, he checked his stats.

They remained the same as before the level up except for the Exp who's limit had now changed to 200 from the previous 100. Haze felt very dissapointed but he got to his feet, he had to find Elena and then find the queen of witches.

His legs felt foreign to him as he stood but he dismissed the thought and started walking to the door.

The corridor immediately outside the door was short and had only one door, Haze knew it would be pointless to check there as the Queen would not make it that convincing for him, regardless he twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open.

It was empty.

'Of course', Haze muttered as he shut the door behind him and walked away. The corridor cut sharply to the right and Haze followed it, finding himself in a much longer hallway. This hallway stretched for what must have been fifteen doors on each side.

Haze sighed, this search was going to be such a bother.

He opened the door on his left first, then he opened the one on the right, they were both empty.

Haze walked on till he got it the next set of doors, he checked them and they were empty as well, then he went to the next and the ones after those ones till he got to the final pairs of doors, they were empty.

Haze sighed and followed the corridor to a stairway that led down into the floor below. There was something ominous about the stairway and it seemed to call out to him as if it was a living, breathing entity and it wanted him to descend into the bottom floor desperately.

Haze scoffed. "I'm not scared of an ordinary staircase, then he went down the stairs".

As soon as he stepped on the stairs, he started hearing moaning sounds, Haze frowned as he continued to climb down the stairs, the sounds got louder as he got near the end of the stairs.

Finally he got to the bottom and listened, the moaning sounds were coming from all over the floor so he decided to go to his right, this floor didn't contain doors like the floor upstairs, this floor had small rooms with iron gates locking them in.

Inside the small rooms lay creatures of different kinds, humans and monsters alike. Most of them lay on the ground, silent and moving only a little while others moaned terribly in agony.

This floor was a prison! Haze realized as he walked down the corridor. A part of him wondered if Elena had been captured and put in one of these, or if she had met the same fate as him.

He decided to check through the cells Incase she was there but she wasn't in any of the cramped compartments.

He kept checking till the last cell, he peered in it but she wasn't there as well.

With a dissapointed sigh, he went to the door at the center of the hall and opened it.

Three young women stood in the room, talking in hushed but excited tones, they went quiet as soon as he opened the door and stared at him in surpise and dread.

Haze looked around the room and realized it was a kitchen, which meant the women were maids of some sort.

He used his seer ability to watch them and he confirmed that they were indeed normal humans, they must have been captured and forced to work rather than die. Or maybe they were to work and still die.

Haze smiled as he entered the room and closed the door behind him.

The women gasped as he entered and shut the door behind him, Haze looked to his left and saw that there was one other person in the room, a young girl that couldn't have been more than nine years old.

He brought out his sword and showed it off in the dim kitchen light.

"I have a problem", He said quietly as he watched their faces carefully.

"See, I'm looking for the Queen's chambers but this building is too big and i'm a little lost".

He looked at them expectantly. "Well, how do I get to her chambers?"

The girls cowered and trembled but they said nothing, Haze let out a frustrated sigh.

"Let's do this again", He said and pointed his sword at one of the girls.

"If I don't get an answer here, I'll bury my sword in each of you but if I get my answer, I'll leave in peace".

"So, I ask again, where is the queen's chambers?", He asked.

The girls continued trembling but this time one of them spoke up. "It's at the first floor, at the extreme end of the wing", She said in a frightened voice.

"Thank you", Haze said. "Now how do I get there?"

She told him and Haze nodded, he lowered his sword and was about to leave when a thought occurred to him. He stepped back into the room and pointed at the little girl.

"You, you're coming with me", He looked at the young women. "If the information you guys gave me turns out to be wrong, she won't return".

The little girl looked pale as she stepped forward and walked towards Haze.

"Wait!", The girl who gave him the directions cried out. "When you reach the banister turn right not left, I'm sorry I made a mistake and gave you the wrong direction".

"Mistake huh?", Haze's eyes glittered as he walked towards her and pointed his sword at her neck, the girl trembled slightly but she held his gaze.

Haze sighed and dropped his sword, he wasn't surpised that she gave him the wrong direction, in fact he had expected it.

He looked at the little girl. "Let's go", He said and they stepped out of the room.
