Premature victory

He pulled back with all his strength but the larva wasn't dead yet.

Haze began to laugh.

"Come on, you're taking too long. We don't have all day".

Adam heard the remarks but he gritted his teeth and kept his cool. He couldn't afford to focus on other things Incase the larva regained a burst of strength and broke free.

He could feel the chain being stretched to its limits and he hoped the larva would die befor the chain broke.

Rattle Rattle~

The chain rattled as it began to give way slowly. Now it was a countdown to which one would give way first. Was it the chain or the larva?

Haze's enhanced hearing picked up the sound of the chain breaking and his heart began to pound.

The chain was their only weapon to defeat the larva and if it broke lose, they were utterly defensless against it.

"Come on you should have killed this thing since!", He shouted.

"Just shut up and let me focus", Adam shouted back.
