Creating a Deity

Due to Dragonite's mother's recent anger, some parts of the cave had been collapsed by her powerful Dragon Pulse.

However, Dragonite's mother didn't seem to mind, as she was about to move out of the nest soon anyway.

Yuga noticed that there was a small pile of Dragon Gems where Druddigon used to lie down. It was just that they had been hidden under Druddigon, and he hadn't noticed them before.

It was quite extravagant for Druddigon to use these valuable gems as cushions for sleeping.

Druddigon's tough skin and its ability, Rough Skin, allowed it to sleep on these gems comfortably. Most other Pokémon would find it uncomfortable.

Next, Yuga saw Dragonite's mother bring out a large, somewhat battered box from inside the cave. It wasn't clear where she had found the box.

After opening the box, Dragonite's mother started picking up the scattered Dragon Gems and Flying Gems one by one and placing them inside.

Yuga noticed that the box was filled with Dragon Gems and Flying Gems, mostly the ones that Druddigon didn't need, which explained why he hadn't taken out the Flying Gems.

Unlike the neatly cut and polished attribute gems sold in the League store, Dragonite's mother's gems were irregular in shape, varying in size and shape.

However, the irregularity of these gems didn't affect their usage. These irregular gems represented their truest form when they were mined.

The gems in the League store were cut and polished to look aesthetically pleasing and for easier pricing and selling.

Yuga estimated that the gems in this box were equivalent to thousands of neatly cut attribute gems.

It was normal for a Champion level Pokémon to have such a vast collection. Attribute gems were valuable, but they were consumables, so collecting them while using them was necessary.

"Dragonite!?"

After placing all the Dragon Gems in the somewhat battered box, Dragonite's mother pushed the box in front of Yuga and pointed at him.

"For me?" Yuga pointed at himself in surprise.

Dragonite's mother shook her head in response and then pointed at Yuga's side where Dragonite was, and then back at Yuga.

Ah, she wants me to keep them for Dragonite! Yuga suddenly realized.

Dragonite's mother then explained why she wanted Dragonite to have these gems. She felt a significant amount of Electric-type energy within Dragonite's body, and it was quite potent.

If Dragonite were an Electric-type Pokémon, it would have been fine, but Dragonite was a Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon.

While this Electric-type energy was helping Dragonite achieve more in its Electric-type moves now, it could pose a significant threat to its future development.

Why did different Pokémon have different attributes? Why were their moves more powerful when they matched their own attributes?

It was because these attributes made up the essence of a Pokémon's body. If Pokémon could freely absorb energy from other attributes, what would be the point of having attributes in the first place?

Ordinary Pokémon did have traces of other attributes within them, but these traces were minimal and allowed them to use moves from other types without affecting their core strength.

A Pokémon was always most proficient in its own attribute moves.

Currently, there were no apparent issues, but when Dragonite reached Elite level, the excess Electric-type energy within it would merge further due to the Life Level Leap, and that excess Electric energy would become a potential problem.

Dragonite's mother believed that the best way to eliminate this potential issue was to strengthen Dragonite's original attributes, hence the need for Dragon Gems and Flying Gems.

Listening to Dragonite's mother's explanation, Yuga was surprised to learn about this potential issue with Dragonite.

Did this mean that Florges, with her Grass-type energy absorption, could also face similar issues?

Just when Yuga was concerned about both Dragonite and Florges, the system assured him that he didn't need to worry.

Dragonite's mother wasn't aware that Dragonite had a Yellow Gem, and the system explained that Dragonite's ability to absorb Electric-type energy and Florges's ability to absorb Grass-type energy were both safely stored in their respective Yellow and Green Gems.

The Yellow and Green Gems were like organs in their bodies now, much like Pikachu's Red Cheeks for storing electricity, and they didn't pose any threat.

The system speculated that these four Gems might have a significant history, possibly related to an ancient human project to create deities.

In ancient times, humans didn't have the genetic and cloning technology of modern humans, but they had equally crazy ideas.

The era in which ancient humans lived was much closer to divinity than modern times. They worshipped, revered, sacrificed to, and feared deities. They also desired to become deities themselves. Their era was less advanced in terms of technology, but it was incredibly mysterious due to its closeness to the divine.

Hence, the creation of deity projects wasn't surprising.

The system made this speculation because it sensed a divine aura in these Gems as they merged more closely with Dragonite and Florges.

The simplest example was Florges's ability to awaken Grassy Terrain, a capability that regular Pokémon couldn't possess.

The system believed that these Gems needed the power of Legendary Pokémon as a catalyst to nurture this still weak power into a new divine essence that would merge with their host and create a new deity.

Listening to the system's explanation, Yuga was astounded. Were these four Gems really that powerful?

However, this was just the system's speculation, and Yuga didn't have concrete information.

What the system could confirm was that absorbing Electric-type energy and Grass-type energy didn't pose a threat to Dragonite and Florges.

The system also noted that these Gems were most compatible with Pokémon of the same type. For example, Charizard and the Red Gem were an excellent match.

Yuga still had a Blue Gem in his possession that he had intended for Lapras, who had met the conditions to use it. However, in the rush of events, he had forgotten about it.

Regardless of whether these Gems were related to an ancient human project or not, their impact on Pokémon was indeed significant.

Now that he knew Dragonite and Florges were not in danger, Yuga breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing Yuga's stunned expression, Dragonite's mother once again pushed the box filled with Dragon Gems and Flying Gems toward him.

Regaining his composure, Yuga smiled at Dragonite's mother, waved his hand, and stored the attribute gems and the box in his system backpack.

Seeing such a big box disappearing in front of her eyes, Dragonite's mother circled around Yuga, Curious, but she didn't find anything unusual. Eventually, she continued organizing her nest.

Dragonite was quite used to seeing this, as Yuga had used the system backpack in front of them before.

Dragonite's mother had a rich collection, including many herbs gathered from the forest, which she used as snacks.

However, some of them had been secretly eaten by Druddigon, which irritated Dragonite's mother.

Knowing that Yuga had storage capabilities, Dragonite's mother generously gave him all the herbs. After Yuga sorted them neatly, he also stored them in the system backpack.

According to Dragonite's mother, chewing on these herbs regularly would promote the growth of Dragon-type Pokémon. This was an experience passed down in their family, commonly known as "Earthwork."

Yuga thought that if these herbs

  were indeed effective, he could plant some in the Ecopark. It would be a suitable snack for his Bagon and Deino to help them grow faster.
