She slowly approached him and asked.

"Derick?"

Derick was confused, how did that woman know his name? He couldn't remember meeting any adventurous women of that age group, let alone one who was rich.

"Yes, that's me."

Realizing that Derick was confused the woman slowly lowered her mask and spoke.

"It's me! Do you recognize me now?"

Derick at once did not recognize her, but after a few seconds he remembered a woman he had met not long ago.

Alice?"

Alice was the guild receptionist who attended to Derick three days ago. It was not strange that Derick was surprised, before she looked like a poor functionary, but now she looked more like a daughter of some nobleman.

"You got it right!" Alice gave a genuine smile.

That simple but innocent smile comforted the hearts of everyone present.

Alice stood by Derick's side.

"So Derick, do you have any teammates?" She looked at him and asked.

You could tell by the tone of her voice that she was anxious for an answer. But before waiting for him to answer, she already asked one more question.

"If not, would you mind keeping me company?"

"Sure, why not?"

"Great!" Again, Alice gave a dazzling smile.

Initially Derick didn't want to join a team, because there are numerous cases of people who betrayed their friends because of money among other reasons.

But Derick didn't mind going with Alice. First, because she was already known to him; second, he didn't have anything valuable with him, why would anyone waste their time to steal a mere Rank F?

They only met once and talked less than 10 minutes, but Alice acted as if they were long-time friends. Derick wondered if that phenomenon he had heard was happening.

Someone we have just met may have been extremely important at some of the other times we have lived. It may be the first time in your life that you see a certain person, but something tells you that you already know each other.

You feel connected to them, you trust them, you feel that you would be able to confide in them and that they would be able to support you in any situation.

And this is what Alice felt with Derick. It could be because Derick looked like her brother, or for any other reason, but Alice had this trust in Derick.
