I found myself walk into a small town in New Orleans called River Ridge. I kept walking into town. I still had a couple thousand dollars but how long could I live on three thousand?
I sat down on a park bench. I looked at my phone. Text from Lola and all of them.
Mom- the funeral is tomorrow and I'm starting to worry Hun. I have no idea where you've been. I can't lose both of my daughters.
Jackson- Dena please come back. I know you think this is for the best but your needed here. Your the one who taught me not to run away for anything or anyone. Where is that girl now? Because we need her. Your mom needs her. Your mom hasn't eaten anything since Sabrina's death. I left the camp, don't worry I talked with Mr Scott and we'll both get our credits. I hope you get this. I love you.
I shoved my phone in my pocket. Although I hate to admit it but Jackson is right. But what if I come back and everyone is in danger because of me? What if no one will ever look at me the same.
She's the girl that danger follows a close step behind.
I can at least hope Jackson will be there for me. I sighed and got up. I started to run. This time not away for my problems to back to them actually. Which now that I'm looking at it, it could possibly be suicide. But I have until senior year to die. So I'm pretty much saved by a prophecy.
A couple days later I was back in Kentucky. I got to my front step. I stood there. I reluctantly turned the door and opened it. I walked in and shut it.
"Adena?" I heard my shout from the hallway
"It's me." I say
"Your home!" She shouted
She did the most unexpected thing, she ran to me with open arms. She hugged me. I hugged her back. We both let go.
"Where were you?" She asked
"I was in California, you know I've always wanted to go there... I just needed sometime to think." I say
"I'm just glad your back." She said
"I'm sorry I missed the funeral." I said
"You didn't, Jackson convinced me to reschedule." She said
"Oh, when is it?" I ask
"Next week." She said
"Oh, why next week?" I ask
"Jackson said that should be enough time for you to calm down." She smiled
"You know I really like Jackson." She smiled
She started to walk to the kitchen.
"Your dad would too." Mom said
"You think?" I smiled
"Yeah, he's the kind of boy your father dreamed you'd have." Mom said
"Mom, can I ask you something." I ask
"Yeah?" She asked
"This is stupid-"
"Nothing's stupid, Hun just ask." She said
"I was wondering if you knew about the supernatural before Lola and I showed you and Ethan at the hospital." I ask
"Why do you ask?" Mom asked
"You didn't seem to surprised." I shrug
She paused what she was doing and walked over to me. She took my arm and guided me to the couch.
"Yes, your father and I knew about the supernatural long before you and Sabrina where born." She said
"What about Ethan?" I ask
"Ethan knew too, that's why Joy left." Mom said
"Why did Joy leave Lola?" I ask
"I don't know I'm not Lola's mother... But Joy did think Ethan was crazy so she left him." Mom said
"How did dad die?" I ask
"Are you sure?" Mom asked
"Mom I want to know." I say
"Ok." She sighed
"You where two..."

2002
"Cathy I'm home!" Peter shouted
"Peter!" Cathy smiled as she hugged her husband
"How was work?" He asked
"I didn't have a lot of cases today so I got out early, how was your day?" Cathy asked
"It was okay, as okay as finance can be." He smiled
Peter sat down on the couch. Five year old Sabrina came running down the stairs to greet her father with a hug.
"Hey babygirl!" Peter smiled as he scooped her up
"Can you read me the spider-man book?" Sabrina asked
"Are you going to go to sleep once I do?" He asked his daughter
"Yes." She cheekily smiled
"Ok." He said
Peter got up and carried Sabrina into her room that she shared with Adena. Peter sat Sabrina down on her bed. He walked over to Adena's crib and picked her up. He walked to the book shelf with Adena and picked up the spider-man book.
I was a children's book his father gave to him the day Sabrina was born. The old man told Peter to say that's how he got his name, because of a marvel superhero.
Every time Peter read the book to his children he pictured his father reading the same book to him.
"The end." Peter said as he closed the book
"Again! Again!" Sabrina cheered
"Sabrina you have to go to sleep!" He laughed
Sabrina finally agreed. Peter sat up and carried Adena back to her crib. He kissed his daughter on the forehead and out the blanket over her.
He walked over to Sabrina's bed and did the same.
"Goodnight my little butterfly." He smiled
"Goodnight dad." She giggled
Peter walked out and shut the light off. He got down the stairs and saw a man with a gun to his wife's head.
"Now Peter I know you've been lying about the money your company owes me, you come with me and I'll let her go." The man growls
Peter surrendered and walked toward the man. The man put the gun to Peters head. He got in a car and drive off with Peter.
Cathy fell to her knees. Tears streamed down her face. She go to her feet and ran to the phone and dialed the police station.
"Hello this is 9-1-1 what is your emergency?"
"My husband he's been kidnapped by a man driving a red 1967 ford." She said shakily
"Ma'ma do you know where they went?"
"IF I DID WOULDNT YOU THINK I WOULD'VE TOLD YOU BY NOW!!!" She shouted
"Sorry Ma'ma we can try to find him but it's very unlikely."
"I WANT TO SPEAK TO ETHAN ERWIN." She demands
"I'm sorry he's busy."
"I'll call his cell then!" She hung up the phone and sighed her cries echoed throughout the otherwise quiet house
