Chapter 1

Title: A Man in an Unfamiliar place...

….

I just come home from another day at work. I am a part-time construction worker, well I do construction work on the side as I am actually finishing college for Civil Engineering… I could do some criminal work but I am afraid of dying and going to jail. So I am not dumb enough to be a criminal.

As I walk towards my bedroom, I have many different thoughts in my head… but I am too tired so I just go to sleep…

….

The next time I opened my eyes… I was in a different place. I could only hear the screams of a woman. I am confused, but that doesn't last for long though as I feel that I somehow can't breathe. That is when somehow my brain catches up with what is going on. 

*UAAAAUAAAA* I immediately started crying and my lungs filled with air. 

That was close, if I actually didn't read those stories back in my first life I would have died. Damn… if I died as soon as I was reincarnated… 

Anyway, as I am swayed in the arms of a woman who I assume to be a nurse. My eyes slowly adjust and what I see around doesn't look at all like a hospital. I see that the woman who I assume to be my mother is lying on a filthy bed with a pool of blood coming from between her legs. She has sweaty wavy hair and rags as clothes.

Well, not a surprise that she died in these filthy conditions. Well that is that, I hope that at least someone takes care of me and so not become a dumpster baby. That would suck and my probability of dying is high. 

I try to move my body, but it seems like it is weirdly uncooperative. As expected of a baby's body. I see that the woman who has me in her arms, she has a soft look on her face. She also has brown hair and black eyes, she suddenly smiles at me and says. "There, there little guy. Don't cry now."

….

So like that one year passed, I got control of my body and motor functions. But I still sh*t and pee my pants. I don't want to seem weird at all. 

Actually the woman who rocketed me when I was born. Seems to be some type of orphanage owner. And actually the filthy sh*thole where my 'mother' died is actually the place where I live now. It is a house with two rooms, if they could even be called that. One is a bedroom and the other a kitchen… there is no bathroom, we just take sh*t in the backyard. 

I still don't know where I am even born. Some poor place, past, present, future or a whole new world. Reincarnation has made me open minded. I am ready to accept anything. 

That is when a girl around eight years old just comes around to feed us. This is some brown stew that… tastes like chicken. I am pretty sure it's rat meat. But whatever, I am not gonna complain about it, it's better than starving. Kinda grossed out at first, but whatever… meat is meat. I never stopped eating the soup.

I am fed by the eight year old girl, she is average looking with black hair and blecak eyes, there is nothing really special  for her. Yeah, I am not even eating by myself. I am average… I don't want to make myself seem too extraordinary. Of course as the girl was feeding me, I decided to take my next calculated move. 

I asked the girl. "Where is mommy?"

She looked at me a little surprised but not that much. As a baby I don't speak a lot. 

Even though I spoke the first word when I was at eight months old and can already easily speak the language fluently. But I don't express it. This place is a mystery to me. There is a possibility that I might be treated like a genius and be given special privileges but I am not willing to take that risk, due to the possibility being there that I might actually be treated as a demon baby… yeah… 

Also mommy is our caretaker, we call her that because that seems to make her happy.

The girl feeding me has an uncertain feeling on how to answer that. "Uhhh… mommy is actually shopping right now."

I just looked confused at that.

 "Shopping? Where?" I asked here again, also why does she seem so uncomfortable talking about this. Is our caretaker a prostitute or something like that, and she is doing her job to take care of us… 

The girl just shrugged and answered by saying. "In the city."

Damn it girl, can't you at least answer by saying something useful to me. So I decided to put on an innocent act and say. "Wow.. so there is a city... uhhhh... what is a city?"

The girl seems to get annoyed at my questioning, but she still feeds me. "A city is a place where a lot of people gather together."

That is when I decide that now is the time to strike. "So do cities have names?"

The girl just groans in annoyance. "Yes they do and our city is called Meteor City."

Immediately my mind runs through a hundred thoughts trying to figure out where I am… my mind then stopped at a certain anime I was a BIG fan of… in my opinion it was the top 3 in my list, maybe even number one.

I am in the world of HxH? And in the worst possible city to live in...

I immediately have to forcefully put that thought at the back of my mind, and eat the soup that the eight year old is feeding me. I notice that she is glad I quieted down…

It seems like I can't be as silent as I wanted to be, by not raising suspicion and all that.

….

As soon as evening came for us to go to bed, we all went to sleep, since there are ten kids in here, the boys sleep in the kitchen and some sleep in the bedroom with our caretaker whose name is Laila.

But as the boys are sleeping, I just keep my eyes closed and under the blanket I put my pointing fingers close to each other. Trying to sense Nen, I remember training stuff like this due to me liking the Nen system a lot… I even wrote some fanfics about it, though sadly they were unsuccessful.

Slowly I try to sense a pushing between my fingers, I am so concentrated that everything else around me disappears. I slowly move my fingers further and further from each-other. When they are around ten centimetres away I sense some strange pushing force around my fingers… or that might just be my imagination.

But it is said that when someone knows it is possible and they can do it… it helps them achieve it. So… I just need to trick myself, that is easy. Ok… imagine that I can already punch with Nen, I can already use attacks that can create creators.

Slowly as I was thinking that, I feel a definitive force push my fingers by a little. I definitely felt that…

I open my eyes to see how long that took, and from the cracks around the house I see that the moon moved quite a bit. 

So that maybe took around one or two hours… should I continue with the next exercise or maybe I should wait for tomorrow.

After giving it a thought I come to the decision to sleep. After all, I am only one year old… I have plenty of time to learn and unlock Nen. I mustn't rush it or it could be detrimental to me.

As we can see here, contrary to the other hxh MC. This one is way more cautious and a better schemer and whimsical liar.😏

Also this one is reborn into a bad place so not a quiet place to learn like Jax (other HxH MC) had. 

Honestly I hope you like this one as much as you did the last one... Actually I hope you like it more.🤣
