Chapter #42: Unveiling Shadows

Imani's words hung in the air like a heavy curtain of reality, casting a sudden shadow over their hearts. The shock and fear that rippled through the group were palpable, expressed by Youta's incredulous voice, desperately seeking reassurance, "You're joking, right?"

Imani's eyes, however, held a somber truth, her voice matching the gravity of her words, "I wish I was, dear."

Drianna, in an attempt to anchor herself to something more reassuring, offered, "No, this can't be. Base #8 and #2 are here in Ma, I'm sure about that."

But Imani walks over to the tables and take a seat.

Grazie's voice broke the heavy silence, offering a perspective rooted in frustration and resentment, "Look, even though those strong bases are in Ma, they don't care about Cento. To them, we're nothing but poor people in their rich realm. They treat us like we're unimportant."

Imani's voice carried a stern warning, "That's enough, Grazie."
