New World, Everything about the worship

So here is everything about the worship, what I could pierce together from the tibits of information people throw around.

- They are a different species than us humans, but are similiar looking if you ignore the smaller details, like the priests white eyes and golden skinn.

-They are able to use magic, although I think it is aquired different than ours.

-They worship some kind of gods, hence their names, I still have no idea what the gods are.

-They rule over Humanity and (Probatly) defeated the empire, upon which we were robt of our rights and magic (disregarding runes).

The next morning was busy. Somehow the worship decided they would need to begin the operation immediately, and so would we. Well we already finished yesterday, so when we were forcefully awoken in the morning we almost forgave them. Almost. Adapting to the fifteen hour sleeping circle was hard at the beginning but I was getting used to it, especially since the magic began reinforcing my body, pushing it to heights I couldn't have thought possible.

After a hurried breakfast we left the city with the rest of the hunters, the worship nowhere to be seen.

„We will go separate ways from here, I believe everybody is clear about what they must do?"

After the boss asked everybody nodded and silently went their own way. Some of them never to return, not that it would concern me.

Moving left from the others instead of going towards towards the forest we took a small path through the hills which the boss had shown us yesterday. Further down we should then be able to see a rock sticking out of the forest like a sore thumb.

Then we will

„hey Kieron, these daggers you gave me, what are they made of?"

He looked at me with his usual rigid gaze, but regardless if it was because of the time I spent with him, or my inhuman senses, I could see the same excitement I had when I first saw the overworld.

„They are amazing, I know for a fact that they are not enchanted, but they are still almost unbreakable, and have a sharpness out of this world. They were able to cut through solid wood!!"

I just had to smile, if he was so shocked after seeing just a single knife, I couldn't wait for him to see the first rocket. Yeah I too would love that, seeing the stars was alw..

Both of us were ripped out of our own world and thrown back in reality, as the sounds of screams and burning fire meant that the attack had begun.

Hastening our steps, we soon saw the aforementioned rock. It was not clear if they were formed naturally or by the hand of some creature, but the tall stone was riddled with holes. And climbing around it were the „monkeys", they looked just like I remembered them, although a bit less starved.

And looking at them their behaviour did resemble earths counterparts. Well the translation wasn't accurate all the time, so this is more than I should expect.

„How are we gonna tackle this, do you have any idea?"

Well, what did he do while preparing, I thought he had at least some idea which him being a travelling merchant.

„Well that's why I requested all those resources during the trade."

I took out my backpack. The content had changed considerably, as I had left everything that was not obviously valuable in the bosses care, to make place for 4 glass bottles I had bought.

„Here take these two, you see the liquid inside? It is flammable and after igniting the fuse, just toss it. We can use these to zone the enemy's and not get overwhelmed by their numbers. I also mixed in some other stuff to make it produce more smoke, and judging by their lack of eyes, there other senses must be more important."

Leonardo nodded. Sadly there was neither time, nor the opportunity to pick them off in small groups, we just had to hope for the best. In the worst case there was still one grenade a flashbang and exactly 122 bullets. And the nuclear bomb, although that would likely kill us too.

So as we slowly approached the rock, we had wrapped clothes around our shoes and applied some kind of bad smelling plant to our cloths so that they would only notice us later, it became apparent that the dater the boss gave us was pretty much correct. If you disregard the younger ones, I still have no idea how they reproduce and or birth, by waiting for them to leave and enter the cave I had singled out 18 of them. But there we should plan with a few more that are inside the cave, it should be doable.

I bound a sloth infringe of my mouth it would be useful later.

Motioning my friend to begin I took out a long bow I borrowed. I wasn't an amazing archer, every bit counts.

Drawing the bow with a strength you would not expect, I shot the arrow towards the next monster.

Hitting its shoulder, the arrow tore right trough and the creature let out an inhuman scream.

I quickly took out another arrow and aimed.

What followed were similar creatures crawling out from caves all around. It was strange, seeing these human like things behave monsters.

My second arrow hit the knee and incapacitated it.

Next to me Leonard threw a few daggers, which also inflicted a few casualties.

And then they were upon us. Not wasting time I let the bow fall to the grave and got ready, one hand inside my bag.

When they were only five meters away we threw the first two ignited bottles into the mass.

They shattered, burned and smoked an awful lot.

Although breathing was easier with the makeshift mask, we should be careful with our stamina.

They were confused, scared.

Quickly I rushed forward into the smoke kicking the first disoriented enemy into its solar plexus into the fire.

„Crack" with an awful tone its rips scattered.

Hearing the noise, the one next to me turned its head an beard it's teeth.

Not wasting any time I dashed forward, dislocated its chin with my hand to stun it, then grabbed onto its neck and with a fluid motion slammed the head against my knee.

Letting the dead body fall into the ground I rushed towards the next target.

The old leaves on the ground had already begun catching on fire, well a wildfire shouldn't happen as the forest was too healthy for that.

Catching my next target I swept his legs of the ground and stomped his head with my boots.

Killing another two enemy's I noticed that they were falling out of their stupor.

Hearing my movement three of the creatures closed at me at once.

I chugged the second bottle at the first, and positioned myself so, that they would block each other.

While fighting against more than one opponent movement was key, even if you were a lot better than your enemy's, if they come from both sides they could kill you.

After dispatching the first which mindlessly charged, the other one soon followed.

Looking around the burning clearing, I noticed deformed, blistering and most important dead creatures sprawling around Leonard, he killed the other 12.

it was incredible, totally different compared to what happened last time. Although that could be contributed mostly to fear, knowing your enemy and having prepared put me in a largely different position.

After throwing them all together with a bit of wood for good measure, we let them burn while advancing towards the burrow. I was exited to see what we would find there.
