The question wasn't where to start, at least not in his mind.
Even though the allure that the place generated made him want to go to the first store and visit everything about it, he knew better and remained as calm as he could be and walked through all the ally going straight towards the bank.
He looked on his left to see there was a warning, but didn't even read it.
He wasn't stupid enough to mess with goblins, warnings or not. He had better ways to kill himself than going against the goblins.
He entered the bank and once again took the marvel of the magical world and everything it entailed with it. He saw that there were a couple people waiting so he sat down in what seemed to be a reception area and sat down.
Being bored he observed and tried looking at the goblins and also the building.
The creatures were really not what he was used to, they were short and had wrinkles, but some of them looked to be quite young too, having brownish or black hair that was always just reaching their neck.
Gringots was beautiful to say the least, the place was clearly made from white marble and Connor could almost feel the magic in the place.
Regarding that thought Connor closed his eyes and for the first time tried to feel the magic of something it wasn't himself, and it was hard, he could tell something was surrounding him but he couldn't tell what it actually was, it was impossible for him to even understand what the magic even do, obviously not getting what the spells were either.
A man next to him tapped him lightly on the shoulder, and Connor opened his eyes.
"It's your turn kid"
Connor quickly walked towards the one goblin who seemed to be not helping anyone and stood in front of him.
The goblin looked quite young but still small in size.
"What can I help you with?" The goblin spoke a little rudely but also politely like he was making fun of Connor, which irritated him a little.
"I want to exchange some money for galleons"
"Well as you may know the rate is five pounds for a galleon so how many would you want"
Connor was ready to shock the goblin and end up without a single pound after this but it was going to be worthy it
"Ten thousand galleons please"
The goblins' eyes didn't went up with shock but with greed instead.
"You need to open an account with gringotts if you don't have one, that way we can make the transaction otherwise I will merely be able to exchange a thousand galleons"
'Fuck' Connor thought 'Well this must be like doing money laundry so it actually works in my favor'
"Ok I agree let's open an account"
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With a little of that Connor opened up an account and left with a thousand galleons all in a expandable bag that the goblin 'gifted' him for opening the vault, which was the cheapest, since he doubted anyone would break into gringotts and if they could, he doubted even more they would go for the normal account and not one of a pureblood family.
Knowing the wand was gonna be a new experience in his life he went towards what was going to be the most boring part of the trip, to get his trunk.
What he wasn't expecting was there to be such a variety of them going with different kind of compartments, it had some with locking charms, and then the basic one which didn't hold any magic at all deciding to splurge a bit he bought one with a locking charm as that would make his life quite easier in a place full of teenagers, next was a part he was going to dread, robes.
As it turns out they are surprisingly fast at making them so it only took him a few minutes before he was heading out of the store quite happy, the magical world had proved him wrong once again.
After that he went for the cauldron and the basic kit for the potions class, and god did that place smell, but he did look around to see what ingredients were there and what not, he was curious after all.
Then a part that he had been waiting for, books. He found out that much like potions they sell the books for Hogwarts all in a bundle ready to order but he decided to look around.
Flourish and Blotts was separated in different category regarding what kind of magic they were, he in total took, besides the books necessarily for hogwarts, a book about transfiguration and it uses in battle, three books of charms, two of them were supposed to be charms that were used in magical houses and another book about obscure charms, two books about the basics of runes and another book of the basics of arithmancy. And he might have gone overboard and bought a few books about DADA, and a single one of divination, which talked about an obscure branch of it.
And finally he was here in front of the wand shop, and this moment felt too real, euphoric even, which was not necessarily a good sign, but ignoring it he entered.
"Ahhh a customer" The famed wandmaker made his way from the back of the store to the front "A hogwarts student I assume."
Connor only smiled and nodded, he liked the attitude the man had, he looked to be one of those few research type of people who liked the challenge.
"Yes I am here for my first wand"
"Well what are you waiting for what's your dominant hand"
"I'm right handed sir"
"Perfect"
Some tapes started to fly around and measuring him and then Olivander came out with a wand.
"Dragon string, twelve inches, perfect for the forwarded mind"
Connor grab the wand but Olivander took it away the second he gave it to him.
"No, no, something less hard minded, more, more, artistic?" Ollivander wonder to himself
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took them a twenty wands but he found his perfect match, a wand made of ebony and a phoenix feather, and now it was only time to wait for hogwarts and meanwhile.
It's time to master wandless magic, or get as good as possible
