After hearing that Mikael wanted to leave, Aurel could not resist but tease him. With a grin on her face and crossed arms, she joked, "Leaving so soon without congratulating your personal knight, sister-in-law?"

Mikael's cheeks turned red as he felt flustered. He silently blamed Nicolaus for that. Why would he even say that in broad daylight and in public on top of that?

"My lord and lady," Sir Daelan called.

Mikael's attention was abruptly drawn by the sound of footsteps echoing up the stairs, filling the roofed foundation. His eyes caught the champion, who followed closely behind Sir Daelan as they ascended to join them.

Nicolaus retrieved his hand from Mikael's waist and walked over to congratulate the knight.
