This is Where it all Begins

Ziph was a no one before the games began, but you already knew that. I mean really think about, is the main character ever someone before the story actually begins? No. If they were, then you would write about their past too, because it would be interesting.

He has his own mysteries here and there and was traumatized as a child, but nothing special in terms of main character back story.

He now works as a store clerk and hates his job, his only solace in life is returning to his apartment and sleeping. Those times of not having to do anything are the times he lives for. It is why I have to tell this story, he was too lazy to tell it himself.

[The God of the Realm is displeased with the Narrator.]

And then there is this God who solves all Ziph's problems for him. It is because of this God that I'm stuck here telling the story. Even more than Ziph because lazy this God has some sort of obsession with Ziph.

[The God of the Realm has heard enough exposition. Forcing Flashback!]

Ziph laid across the bench as the train rode to his parent's place. He had just gotten time off from work and was looking forward to sleeping it all away but his parents wanted to have family bonding time.

'This is such bull crap. I just want to get more sleep.' He groaned rolling over on the bench. He was actually a decent looking dude. A head of long mess white hair, a confusingly good muscular figure, and had the height to go with it. Even before the death games the God of the Realm already had his hand in Ziph's fate.

The women on the train thought he looked he looked hot. One, in particular, moved and "accidentally" slid too far, bumping Ziph. Don't let him fool you! He isn't-

*cough*

His cognac eyes blinked, slowly looking up to the woman now at his side. She was gorgeous, a solid 10/10, her figure was the perfect proportions, with a sun golden tan to boot. Her eyes were an icy blue but they stared at Ziph filled with warmth. Her hair was blond rays of sun shooting down her back, this woman was I repeat, gorgeous. She was the heroine you see praised as main girl material. Her personality? Screw the personality! She was drop dead gorgeous!

But Ziph, goddamn Ziph, didn't even look at her twice. He was even annoyed that she ruined his sleep! Are you kidding me!

She saw his look of contempt and was actually pleased. She didn't try to wake him another time and the next leg of the train ride was quiet.

Then everything went dark, the power went out and the train let out an ear-piercing shrill as movement terminated. From but everyone inside the carriage continued in motion, flying to the front of their sections.

Ziph was now on top of the currently unidentified woman. With groggy eyes, he took in his surroundings before letting out a pained groan.

The plant he had brought with him had slammed into his head during all the chaos.

'Damn family traditions. It wasn't bad enough to keep this thing alive, but now it has it caused me physical pain!' He complained internally; glaring at the inanimate plant with complete disgust.

The carmine face of the woman under him was ignored. He continued to throw curses as the plant not caring for anything else.

"Can you get off of me?" She spoke, her voice was sweet like candy.

"Oh, I'm going back to bed." He walked back over to the bench and laid back down; pulling the potted plant with him.

She was in a visible stupor but didn't seem angry with his actions. She just ignored them and went about investigating the situation. The doors were locked and the power didn't seem to be returning anytime soon.

"Does anyone have phone service to see what is going on?" She bellowed, her voice echoing all across the car, Ziph remained unstirred.

Every person in the car took out their phones but no one had any signal. A panic quickly escalated across the car as people hyperventilated and others screamed for someone to save them. There were only select few men and women who remained calm in the car of people.

"Everyone remain calm!" A man in a full army uniform ordered, his deep and invoked a sense of safety in the men and women.

People in times of panic and uncertainty look towards people of action and natural leaders. They are too scared to think for themselves so they follow the orders of others to stay alive. They are all little sheep looking for herder to guide them.

Ziph scoffed at them visibly annoyed that his nap was ruined.

'Why are people in such a panic? Will that help? Don't they know that more damage is caused by a panic then whatever caused the panic?'

He sat slouched in his seat waiting for the train to restart or for someone to form the doors open.

He looked over to his left to see a bunch of muscular looking men trying to pry the doors open but it was to no avail as the sliding door remained unmoved. So Ziph was left to find a way to ease his boredom.

"Hey, miss sorry about earlier. Name's Ziph." With a yawn, he reached his hand out to the women beside him.

She shook his hand with a scintillating simper, "Name's Lucia. The pleasure in mine. What you do for a living?"

He let out a passive grin that fit his face perfectly, "I'm a store clerk. Was visiting family during my time off."

"I'm the CEO for Glory. Was going out to visit a friend. Hope the train starts up soon." Unworthy! Unworthy!

[Death chance 60%!]

"Isn't it strange there hasn't been any change yet…" Ziph inquired from Lucia.

"Yea…" Through all the panic and trying to calm everyone down, they hadn't taken notice to how long the power was out.

"Welcome Humans!" The voice appeared from nowhere, resonating in everyone's head.

"It is time for the games to begin!"

With a country destroying beauty at his side, and a sponsor beyond comprehension, Ziph was on his path to be king.

[God the Realm doesn't like that title.]

God?

[God the Realm doesn't like that title.]

Supreme Ruler of all Realms?

[God of the Realm nods in agreement. Death chance 35%]

As much as I stare on in contempt or berate Ziph for his fate. I respect him, for it is hard to keep yourself by what you believe to be true at the darkest points. He doesn't change himself to fit with others or change his ideals when something goes wrong. He is steadfast in his choices and stands by his actions. He is a man worthy of respect.

[God of the Realm releases a tear. No chance of death.]

And with this God at his side, the future is his to create.
