As the duo approached the gates of the Human Empire, Larik began to sweating profusely, seriously starting to doubt his current actions.
'Y-your Majesty, are you sure...?' He asked,
Draceo looked straight at him and with a confident smile replied,
'Larik, trust me. Wait for me here, I'll be back within an hour,' trying to reassure the demon beside him.
After another 5 minutes of Larik barely going into a complete meltdown and Draceo persuading him to stay here, they finally got to an agreement; If Draceo doesn't come back within 45 minutes Larik would go on a full on attack on the Empire. Draceo sighed before slowly walking to the gate.
The 4 metre steel gate loomed before him causing all the people beneath it to feel intimidated. As Draceo walked to the door, the two soldiers to the side of the door instantly blocked to the door with their two spears.
'ID' one said, holding out his hand, indicating to pass him an ID card.
Without hesitation, Draceo handed the man an ID card which he had prepared beforehand with the status of his disguise.
As the soldier took the ID and scanned it on the magic crystal, the crystal glowed green. Indicating there was no problem with the ID and withdrew their spears. As Draceo walked pass, the spears once again blocked the next person from entering, repeating the cycle.
Walking around on the streets, Draceo felt all his memory resurface as he thought of all the adventures he had with his previous party members. Quickly shaking his head, telling himself to keep focusing on the task.
Suddenly, a burst of excitement could be heard from the city centre. Draceo moved hurriedly, curious of the racket being caused. As he moved closer to the sound, he noticed that hundreds and thousands of people were all shouting and cheering. Politely tapping on a local's shoulder, Draceo inquired curiously, 'Ma'am, what's all the excitement all about?'.
The lady turned over and gave Draceo a weird look, "Where are you from? Under a rock?"
'Actually, I just arrived from a distant village,' Draceo replied with a apologetic tone, 'News travel really slowly there,'
The lady gave Draceo a thorough look before saying, 'We heard that the Demon King's been revived, so the Royal's summoned a Hero to keep us all safe. I also heard he's really strong... and generous... and handsome.'
The lady gave a small blush as she started wondering into her little fantasy.
Draceo nodded before slowly pushing his way through the crowd, curious.
