House of the Rising Sun

You know, I was fascinated with vampires when I was a kid. The thought of power and good looks made me want to be one. That is, until I actually became one. Suddenly Lestat’s musings of an eternity being lonely became too real. Waking up in a forest who would have thought I’d run into ‘that’ family. I’d strangle the one that sent me here if she hadn’t trapped me in a world full of bullshit magic, doppelgängers, and broody vampires. *Status: Complete* *Sequel Pending*

Heart x Heart

Turns out that ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away. Who would have thought.

I spent the better part of the rest of that day contemplating what Morgana's note had just told me. Cliche aside, it sounded like she wasn't going to be any further help. On the other hand, she also heavily implied that I would be getting some sort of 'power up'. Not that it would help me with Merlin. Damn bastard had me on experience alone, not to mention complete control over his power.

Here I was a thousand years old and still discovering my own powers. I didn't see how Morgana expected me to stop the guy.

"Something on your mind?"

"You could say that." I turned to look at Nicole standing at the door of my study.

"Even when you're a thousand year old vampire, you still have the same face when you're stressing over something."

"I'm still me, blood drinking, hedonistic lifestyle, and obscene wealth aside."

"Yup, you're still the dork I fell in love with."

"Nicole, I-"

"Stop, it was a long time ago now. At least you waited."

"I- I've missed you, a thousand years and I'd trade it all away for you to have been there with me in the beginning."

"Stop it you, you're being disgustingly sappy."

"It's true though. Ever since having seen you seemingly die, I've done some terrible shit. I can't help but think that with you there, I would have taken a much different route."

"Well we can start now, where are we with the story?"

"What?"

"You did a Klaus, now it's time for your redemption arc. Where are we with the canon story?"

"Nicole, canon went out of the window the second I arrived in this world."

"What did you do?"

"Well, aside from existing. I've put the fear of god into Klaus, killed Mikael, and Dahlia, and Esther, probably contributed to several world war myths, potentially screwed with Transylvanian history, and finally somehow set the evil vampire cult on my ass. Also the body snatcher vampires are in town."

Nicole sighed, "Yeah, canon is out of the window. What were you thinking?"

"Well…."

"What?"

"Iwantedtotakeovertheworld."

"WHAT?!"

"I had just seen you apparently die, I got shanghaied into another world after getting turned into a brokenly powerful vampire, and I had no general direction."

"You complete ass."

"What? I basically run this world," I laughed. "I own one of the biggest if not the biggest chain of banks in America."

"Money isn't everything you dick."

"Uhh I beg to differ, I can buy just about anything and do just about anything."

"Then why haven't you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Why haven't you taken over the world?"

"Well, I decided against it in the end. Plus I thought I found you when I met Freya, who's body you're in, or is it your body? I don't even know, this is all very confusing for me."

"Confusi-, how do you think I feel?!"

"Equally as confused if not more so."

"Seth, have you tried to find a way back?"

I kept quiet, now that I thought about it I had come to terms with it a bit faster than normal. Getting sent to a different world should have thrown me for a loop for a bit longer but I had pretty much accepted my fate right off the bat.

"I thought I lost you…."

It was no excuse, but then again Morgana had implied that I was stuck here. Though she had the habit of sending me places in the past.

"I'm here now," her voice soft. "We'll make it through this."

"Well yeah, I've made it a thousand years. I'm not giving up yet."

"Now back to the canon plot line you've managed to muck up."

"Which was not my fault."

"What are you talking about, it was your fault."

"Fine, what are we going to do? I'm pretty sure we can just let the Mikaelsons deal with the Travelers. We can always just pack up and disappear."

"What about your assets here?"

"The banks are autonomous, and my properties are going to be fine. I'd need some time to explore these new powers of mine, along with making sure that we have plenty of resources to sustain ourselves should we need to do so."

"I'm still not sold on just leaving Seth."

I sighed, "You're right, we can't just leave just yet. To be completely honest I'm not sure what sort of situation you've found yourself in. I don't know if you're permanently in that body or if you're sharing that with Freya."

Nicole narrowed her eyes at me and crossed her arms. Centuries later I was still familiar enough with her body language to know that I had said something she didn't like.

"What do you mean, 'sharing'?"

"Morgana had something to do with this, of that I have no doubt. However, Freya Mikaelson has been around for a thousand years and I'm not sure if she was possessing your body or if you're possessing her body. I did watch you die after all."

"That's confusing as hell."

"Tell me about it."

"So what do we do?"

"I have to look into this somehow, but I don't think the witch covens are going to be very forthcoming with me."

"Fine, while you do that I'll be speaking with the rest of the women in this house."

I had been on my way out of the room when she had said that. I nearly fell on my face in shock.

"Whatever for?"

"Well, I figured you're probably fucking one if not all of them. So who better to ask about what you've been up to other than screwing around with the plot line."

'She's not going to be very happy.'

"Fine, I'll be back later tonight. I'll see if the Mikaelson's have any books on body snatchers."
