Forced Hand

Things weren't bleak however, but only if their rough understanding on the entity was good enough to predict what he would do next.

They didn't have much information at all but they had already scoured the police reports about what the local authorities had first believed to be a serial killer, three of the four people inside the house the man in grey had invaded had seen him in the act and it appeared like he had gone after them directly as there were no other deaths in between.

Not truly knowing if he would still attempt to go after them, the strange group made their way for the hospital, most certainly arriving before their target but to be sure, they searched the hospital and placed guards all around, having pretty much more authority than the local police, it wasn't hard to do so.

"The four victims seem to all be passed out or asleep at the moment" reported one of the agents, there was only one door leading to each of the rooms but knowing that the target could blow through walls, they would need to act as if there were actually four or even five ways for the entity to get inside.

The door, the two walls, the ceiling and maybe even the floor, the windows didn't seem like a possibility as there was nothing to hold onto outside, except if he had some rope to dangle from the roof, he wouldn't be going in through here and agents were already on the roof anyways, looking over the surroundings, trying to catch sight of the entity walking over.

"Alright, it shouldn't be able to get past our security, if it does come" muttered the man in charge of the operations, whose face, just like that of all the agents was covered at all times.

He had already dealt with other strange phenomena, most had had the appearance of some sort of life form, the majority had had more destructive personalities than this, this one might have trickier abilities but it was nowhere near as dangerous.

At least, he hoped that this would be the case, some normal citizens had managed to survive an encounter with it after all, his armed troops should have no issue dispatching it if given the chance to.

The man lit his lighter, contemplating the idea of getting something to smoke when something got his attention, he was currently sitting in the security room of the hospitals, due to a staggering amount of medicine theft, this hospital had a good camera system.

He noticed a man wearing a white blouse walking over to the main entrance, the man closed the lighter and leaned forward to get a better look at this supposed doctor, he was looking down whilst making his way over to two agents stationed near the entrance.

"Front entrance, the doctor approaching, stay on guard" he quickly said over the radio, the two agents had already been looking at this guy strangely but they didn't immediately raised their guns at him and first tried to call out to him.

The doctor raised his quizzically, not knowing why two armed people were staying guard at the entrance.

"False alert" reported one of the two, the doctor was just acting strange.

The leader of the operation leaned back, an ambulance rushed right after the doctor walked in, the lights were flashing brightly as it was still night and the loud sound of the siren filled the surroundings as the paramedics wheeled out someone wrapped in bandages.

None of the agents got in the way and they stepped to the side to allow them through.

Right after that happened however, the man in charge suddenly felt like they should be careful of something.

He sent of message over the radio to agents stationed inside the hospital to check over the bandaged patient, the two paramedics had had looks contrary to that of the entity and had moved at greater speeds than it had shown, even if it had disappeared earlier, he didn't believe it could go any faster.

The bandaged person however, although he had doubt that the target was capable of putting such an elaborate plan into motion.

The patient was wheeled in to a room with no cameras and the few seconds it took for two agents to come felt like hours, the leader felt tense, he had a majority of female agents for this mission and considering the revelations about some of the entity capabilities, he would have preferred to form duos of one man and one woman but it wasn't possible, so it was two women that went to check over the patient.

Meaning that the entity could go undetected by them.

When he received no further communication after they went in, only a few seconds after the two went in, he was already about to call for backup when the door to the room swung open, he saw no one go through, prompting him to call for an emergency.

'I can't believe this' he thought as he listened to the words of his subordinates on the radio, he remained in the camera room to give orders so he couldn't go out himself.

The target couldn't be found at the moment but it had really gotten in by posing as someone in need of hospitalisation, it had done so by most certainly burning itself in its female form, to be visible to the paramedics, although he couldn't know how it could have known only men would be there to pick it up, neither did he understand how it got the attention of the emergency service.

The entity had knocked all four of the poeple out but without killing any, another curious fact in the eyes of the leader, it was a merciless murderer and even worse, he couldn't fathom why it wouldn't kill these people when given the occasion.

For the moment however, all that mattered was to focus their efforts on the four it was most likely to have come for, they weren't aware who it was targeting or if was only after a single person though.

There wasn't enough time to evacuate the hospital now, he whished he had done so since the beginning but he had first thought that it wouldn't be necessary, convinced that it would either be quickly intercepted or that it wouldn't show up.

'I underestimated this thing' he cursed himself and focused intently, it wouldn't be able to get to any of the four victims without being seen at least, both male and female agents were present.
