The Police Station

Stepping out of her van, Lissy went to the back and pulled out an axe with a sharp point behind the main blade, letting the handle slide in her hand until the steel touched her hand, she approached the crashed pick-up.

It's wheels clogged with pieces of sunflowers, she walked toward the driver's window, leaning her face covered with bark forward to see, the night was moments away from claiming its reign.

She discovered the vehicle to be empty, she forced the door open, confirming that it was indeed deserted, despite all the doors behind closed, Linda had already made her escape without making a noise.

Though, moving undetected in this densely pack field wasn't a simple or easy feat to accomplish, she was either moving as slow as a snail or hadn't moved at all.

The pursuer looked underneath the car and then all around before turning her attention to the nearby sunflowers that hadnt' been crushed.

The moment she was far enough, Linda left from her hiding spot, thanking her luck for the fact that the axe wielding maniac had chosen to start looking on the opposite side from where she was hiding, allowing her to start to sneak away through the path she had forged through the field.

She hoped that this woman wouldn't have thought of it but she had indeed locked her van before going out to look for her, leaving her no other choice but to start running on the road, toward the city.

After making some distance between her and the van, she went on the left side of the huge sunflower field, the distance separating her from the city wasn't exactly small, if she was spotted on the road, she would end up as a roadkill for certain, so she engulged herself into the densely packed plants and started moving toward safety from there.

The darkness started to settle in, a completely pitch black night had settled in, the only illumination piercing through being that of the street lights getting closer and a flashlight that sometime waved over the sunflowers.

She could hear the sound of an engine running but the headlights were turned off, slowly moving forward, trying to catch a glimpse of something moving unnaturally or of a human shape.

Soon enough however, Linda breached into the city and once again, luck seemed to be on her side as this place's police station was right over there.

And an officier seemed to be inside as the light were on, running over without noticing any sign of her stalker, she bursted in, looking like a mess after traversing the sunflowers.

"Someone is chasing me down" she clearly stated before the man behind the counter could even raise his head to look at who had just entered.

The officier wasn't even able to answer before headlights flooded the interior with a blinding light as a vehicle stopped right in front of the entrance.

"Are they armed?" he asked her as he drew his firearm and signed for her to move further into the station.

"Yes" she responded, still not quite panicked, oddly calm even.

The policeman used his radio to report, but no one else showed up, indicating that he was the only one in this building at the moment.

'What the hell? Is even the city so deep into the coutryside that they only have a handful of police officiers?' she wondered, not feeling very safe despite being in a police station.

Moreover, the guy, who didn't have a clue what he was dealing with was moving closer to the door instead and standing his ground.

The doors were simply, made of two squares of glass each, separated in the center by a metal piece, no one could make out much as the light from the headlights was beyond bright.

Anything that wasn't in front of the light was completely concealed.

The officier, didn't seem very concerned about it and continued on taking little steps forward, with his gun aimed in front of him.

Suddenly, going almost unnoticed, the upper glass of a door cracked, a small hole left in the center of the cracks, the officier stopped, moving and suddenly started turning around, his gun aiming at the ground.

A small, hollow rod of metal stuck in his throat, blood began flowing out as he reached to it, almost to confirm if there really was something there or not before slipping into the puddle of blood that had formed underneath him and going limp a few moments after.

The axe woman kicked her way in, shattering the panels of glass to pieces, holding her axe nonchalantly as she tilted her head while looking at Linda's figure retreating out of sight.

She noticed that her soon-to-be victim, designated as the 'main' target by her foster father was barricading doors wherever she went and turning lights off, but no always, probably because finding the switches in an unfamiliar place quickly was mostly down to luck.

Lissy knew the city, she had come by a few times and been taken to the station a few times as well, she knew from experience that there was only one entrance and exit, trying to escape anywhere else would be unlikely to work, the windows weren't cheap like the entrance was, it had a metal shutter in case but the windows didn't, so they were sturdier and had iron bars as well.

Unless a window had been left open and that somehow, someone had removed the bars, she was trapped in here like a rat.

Still, the 'main' target wasn't supposed to go down too quickly, when going on a large scale operation like this one, her father had always told her that the main target needed to be guided through areas where she would be able to rack up some victims along the way.

She had misplayed and this girl had trapped herself, now, Lissy couldn't just let her go without doing anything, it was up to Linda to fight her way past her.

Rotating her axe, she finally started moving after her target, by now, she had surely thought of some plan to get out.
