Chapter 22: Miguel

Miguel found himself on the outside looking in as his brother and Quinn settled the unconscious spacer on the sofa in Minnesota's house. Hers was the furthest from the crash and suffered the least damage from the original attack, save for the missing back wall in her parent's bedroom, something she didn't hide quite fast enough when she closed the door.

He was used to being on the outside. As brilliant as he was, it struck a particularly painful blow for him to be shushed over and over by the pint-sized mechanic when he tried to interject his own observations while the spacer kids were talking. In fact, it was downright insulting.

Feelings hurt, Miguel found a comfortable spot in the corner of the room and tried to pretend he was ignoring them all while doing his best to study them.
