Honkai: Infinite Self

(A/N: This is a rewritten version of my fanfic 'Honkai: The Reincarnated One' but with a very different story, such as the removal of the Chat Group) Imagine waking up in an alternate version of yourself after being hit by a truck while saving someone, only to find that your new world is from your favorite game, but extremely dangerous for an ordinary person like you. This is the situation faced by Itsuki Kurokami, a regular young man living a normal life. Fortunately, as a reincarnator, he receives a cheat that allows him to access and gain the powers of his infinite alternate selves across all universes and possibilities. However, this power comes with a drawback: accessing and receiving these powers also means inheriting all the memories of his alternate selves, which could lead to losing his own identity. Will Itsuki survive in a world that is unfriendly to men like him with his cheat, or will he lose himself due to the overwhelming memories of his alternate selves? Find out in this fanfic!

Meet a Delinquent Again

As Itsuki stepped out of his apartment, he was greeted by a view that was both familiar and strange.

"Is this the world of Honkai? I still can't believe I'm in my favorite game's world."

He sighed, realizing he had to accept the fact that he was no longer in his old world.

Itsuki descended the stairs, looking around. Even though everything seemed familiar from his memories, experiencing it firsthand was a new sensation.

The world here is so much more colorful... Is this the difference between fiction and reality? Well, it's not fiction anymore, considering I'm really here…

He pondered this as he walked to his destination. Along the way, his ears perked up as he overheard the whispers of some girls.

"Hey! Look at that handsome guy~ Is he an idol?"

"He's so handsome... I want to ask for his number. Maybe he'll say yes~"

"Dream on! With your ugly face, how could someone as good-looking as him be interested in you? Look in the mirror first!"

"You! You're such a bitch!!!"

Hearing the girls talking about him, clearly attracted to his looks before ending up in a fight, left Itsuki speechless.

These girls... they're fighting just because of a handsome guy… They're not that different from guys after all.

Itsuki nodded in understanding, acknowledging that humans are visual creatures who highly value appearance.

Knowing that girls found him attractive, a proud and happy smile appeared on his face, and his heart fluttered.

So this is what it feels like to be good-looking? It makes me jealous! Damn it! If only I looked like this in my old world, maybe I wouldn't have died a virgin!

Remembering that sad fact, Itsuki gritted his teeth in frustration and his eyes showed a hint of sadness. Dying as a virgin was indeed a sad fate for a young man.

He shook his head, dismissing the unimportant thoughts. After all, he had been reincarnated as someone better than before.

But this is a strange world. Look at all the people here with their vibrant hair colors. It's something you'd never see in my old world.

His lips twitched as he observed the unique aspect of this fictional world, where everyone had brightly colored hair, which surprisingly didn't look odd but rather seemed perfectly normal.

Itsuki even felt that his black hair looked out of place in this colorful world, as he hadn't seen anyone else with black hair besides himself.

The number of women here is much higher than that of men... This world is indeed unfriendly and harsh for men.

He sighed. This was another fact he discovered during his observation. There were about 100 women for every man, showing a significant imbalance.

This realization left him speechless again, especially knowing that this imbalance might be why this world leaned towards a Yuri dynamic.

Fortunately, even though there are more women, this isn't a female-dominated world like in 'Mato Seihei no Slave' or something similar.

Itsuki felt relieved, though he was slightly intrigued by such a world. Nonetheless, he preferred the normal world he was more familiar with.

After some time, he finally reached his destination: a clothing store in the city. His counterpart often shopped there because the prices were reasonable and the quality was good.

Not long after he entered, he was greeted by the store staff, whose eyes sparkled upon seeing his handsome appearance.

The staff thought she was getting a wealthy customer, likely an idol judging by his extraordinary looks.

Though she was puzzled why an idol would visit a budget store, she assumed it was a hobby or a unique trait of his.

Unfortunately, the staff was very wrong. Itsuki was just an ordinary young man, not an idol. Far from being wealthy, he was an orphan living modestly.

Sorry to disappoint you, miss, but I'm not what you think.

Itsuki thought to himself and then went on to browse for clothes that suited his taste.

"Sir, can I help you with anything?" the female staff asked, looking at Itsuki with sparkling eyes and blushing cheeks.

"Ah, do you have this shirt in XL?" Itsuki asked, holding up a T-shirt to the staff.

"Please wait a moment, sir. I'll check for you," the staff replied, taking the shirt and checking the stock.

A few moments later, the staff returned with the size he requested and handed it to Itsuki. He thanked her and continued looking for more clothes, including pants.

After about 30 minutes, he finished picking out the clothes he wanted and headed to the cashier to make his purchase.

While shopping, the staff stopped following him when she saw him picking out only the clothes that were on sale, realizing her initial expectations were wrong.

"Is that everything, sir?" the cashier asked, looking puzzled.

"Yes, that's all," Itsuki nodded. It seemed the cashier had the same high expectations as the staff.

"That will be xxx Yen," the cashier said with a disappointed look, thinking she would have a big spender and earn a bonus, but it turned out he was just an ordinary customer.

Itsuki quickly paid and left the store under the disappointed gazes of the staff and cashier. He could only shake his head helplessly at their reactions.

Never set your expectations too high if you don't want to be disappointed. Reality can be harsher than you think.

He thought this as he walked back to his apartment with his shopping bags in hand.

"Kyaah! Help! Someone, please help!"

However, on his way back, a suspicious sound caught his attention.

He stopped in his tracks and looked around, but noticed that no one else seemed to hear the cry for help.

Was that just my imagination? But I'm sure I heard it clearly.

He decided to stay still, waiting to see if the voice would call out again to confirm it wasn't just his mind playing tricks on him.

Sure enough, moments later, he heard the voice again, this time more desperate and frightened.

His eyes sharpened with determination. Using his super intuition, Itsuki quickly pinpointed the location of the distress call.

There!

Quickly, he rushed towards the source, heading into a dark and deserted alley beside one of the buildings.

As he ran, the cries for help grew clearer and louder. He could now hear other voices laughing menacingly at the girl.

Moments later, he arrived at the scene. He saw several men, who looked like delinquents based on their threatening appearance and attire, surrounding a young girl who was helpless and terrified.

"Oi! Oi! Ojou-chan! Just give up. No one can hear you, no matter how loud you scream! This alley is too deep and far from the crowds! Kekeke," one of the men taunted.

"Yeah, the boss is right! You better give in to us. Don't worry, we'll be gentle with you," another man said, eyeing the girl with a predatory and heated gaze.

"No!!! I don't want to be with you! Someone, please help me!!! I don't want to be raped!!!" the girl screamed desperately, her face streaked with tears.

Fortunately, her prayers were answered as footsteps echoed in the alley, drawing everyone's attention to the approaching figure of Itsuki.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk! Look at what we have here! Who would have thought a group of delinquents would try to commit a crime in broad daylight?" Itsuki clicked his tongue, staring at the group with disdain.

"But I have to admit, you guys are quite bold to try this in the middle of the day!" he added, shaking his head.

"Who the hell are you, brat?! Do you have a death wish?" the boss of the group glared at him, and the delinquents began to approach Itsuki, stretching their bodies before pulling knives from their pockets.

The girl, seeing Itsuki, felt a flicker of hope but was also worried, noticing the weapons in the delinquents' hands.

"Heh? You're playing with weapons, huh? How sneaky of you all, especially since I don't have any weapons myself," Itsuki said, his tone playful.

"Who cares?! That's your fault for meddling in our business! Don't regret dying for wanting to be a hero, brat!" the gang leader sneered, already picturing Itsuki's face filled with regret and pleading for mercy.

Itsuki just shook his head and put down his shopping bags. He then stretched a few times, which made the leader momentarily surprised.

This brat… He's not running, but instead, he's stretching… Does he know how to fight?

The boss felt a sudden unease. With Itsuki's current height of 190 cm and his muscular build, he looked very intimidating, even more so to the shorter boss.

No, no! This Is just an illusion! This kid is pretending to scare me! Yes, that's it! He's just pretending!

The boss reassured himself repeatedly, and finally, he and his underlings surrounded Itsuki from all sides, making sure he couldn't escape.

The boss and his underlings were taken aback. Instead of showing fear or seriousness, Itsuki's face looked almost nostalgic.

It's been a long time… I haven't been surrounded by armed delinquents from all directions in a while…

Itsuki thought to himself. In his counterpart's life, he often faced such situations, almost daily, due to being a significant threat to various delinquent groups and even the Yakuza. However, ever since he surpassed the realm of normal humans, he had stopped fighting people and had shifted to battling animals.

That's why, instead of being scared in a situation that would make a normal person panic, he felt a wave of nostalgia.
