6 - Selfie

Shruthi's pov

Veer and me got into a argument because he blamed that I dint tell him that I belong in Malhotra's family.

2days spent by and I spent my time with veer. Ignoring rahul completely.

" There's a born fire tonight " veer screamed in excitement.

I decided to stroll around when I saw group of soldiers working out.

" Get out " I heard a similiar voice saying

" They are hot " I smirked looking back at rahul

He rolled his eyes.

" Take me around today " I said and he looked confused and he looked angry

" Ask your boyfriend " he said walking past by me

" He's busy " I run behind him.

" I will call advik if you treat me like this " I warned and he looked very angry.

" Get ready in an hour. I will take you out " he said.

After an hour, I got ready and decided to search for rahul. I stopped when I saw him leaning on his bike looking absolutely hot.

Bike? I asked him. He raised his head and nodded. He tossed helmet and sat on his bike.

My heart raced and suddenly the engine started making my hands wrap around him

" Ah.. sorry " I removed my hands

" Are you afraid that your boyfriend will catch you " he said

" what.. no "

Roads were very bad making me wrap my fingers around him again. I cursed removing my hand again.

Suddenly my hands were snatched by him and he made me wrap my hands around him. My heart fluttered inside my chest.

" Dare you remove it. I will throw you in one of those valleys " he threatened.

I kept silent trying to calm myself down. Soon we reached a temple. And I could see a huge waterfall behind it.

" Let's go " he said walking towards the waterfall. There were no people.

" Here, click my picture " I smiled giving rahul my phone.

" no " why does he have to be so rude?

" Please " I made puppy eyes. He stared at me with different emotions. He hates me right?

I posed and he clicked a picture.

" I want a picture of us " I blurred out.

" no " he said making me angry. I calmed myself down

I stood infront of him and opened the front cam. Though I am tall I reached only till his chest.

" Bend please " I say and suddenly he placed his chin in the crook of my neck and wrapped his hand around my bare stomach.

Butterflies danced in my stomach.

" click now " he said and I was still in my place not understanding what to do. He snatched my phone from my hand and clicked a picture of us

He unwrapped himself off me and smirked seeing my helpless state.

" Fuck you " I yelled

" if you insist " he said making my eyes wide.

What the fuck is wrong with him?

" Show that picture to your boyfriend " he smirked walking past me

My mouth opened to talk something but nothing came out of it.

I looked down at the picture we just took. For anyone who saw this they will definitely think we are a couple.

But why is my heart feeling like this? Do I like rahul? Wait. Am I cheating on veer?

I shook my head telling myself that its fine.

I followed rahul who was texting someone leaning onto his bike.

" Shruthi I have some work nearby can we do that and continue? " he asked

What is wrong with him!! He's being kind?

" Uh.. why don't you complete your work and come back here " I asked

" What will you do alone here " he asked

I pointed towards the temple saying

" I wanna stay here " I said and he nods

" Will be back in 30minutes " he said and left

I made my way towards the temple and prayed. I saw a old lady sewing flowers.

I decided to help her. After few minutes heavy wind made the posters of the temple blow

I ran behind them but guess it was a wrong idea. The wind was so strong that it could push me away.

I saw few drunkards making their way towards me and I sighed. 

These men!

They stood infront of me and I raised my eyebrows.

" Look. Just go away if you don't want to die " I said.

After few minutes of  knocking them out. I warned them. They dint listen.

I was standing infront of the lake and the guy who I knocked out before pushed me into the water.

Wtf? I knocked them out? Were they acting or my skills are really bad?

I heard rahul shouting

The water was deep like really deep. My leg was injured and I couldn't come out of the water.

Rahul's pov -

One thing I realized was. She changed. She wasn't a brat anymore. She looked mature. She still was the same fierced woman but something changed in her.

I was excited to take her out when she asked me but one thing which made me hate her is, her boyfriend veer.

I always know that he had a boyfriend. Advik told me 2 years back and I was angry but I couldn't help it. But I dont know veer was her boyfriend.

Veer is a playboy and everyone here knows it. I warned him. Hopefully he won't hurt her.

I was done with my work but when I reached there I saw her falling into the lake. The guy who pushed her ran away after seeing me.

Shruthi knows swimming right?

I jumped into the lake and pulled her out. I placed her on the ground.

" Shruthi please wakeup " I patted her her hair. My trembling hands were furiously shaking her.

I saw her biting her lip to stop herself from laughing.

Oh fuck I was scared!!!!!!!

" I hope cpr can help " I say out loud and she immediately opened her eyes.

Shruthi's pov -

I was just playing but looks like I just got caught.

" I.. " he was glaring at me in anger.

He was staring at me as if he's going to peirce bullet into my head.

" I was just playing " I whispered

" IT WASN'T FUNNY " he yelled making me flinch. Guess it was not!

" I am sorry " I say as he kept staring at me in angry. He pulled me into a hug. I froze in my place. And I hugged him back. My heart beat wasn't normal.

" Don't ever do that again " he said still hugging me tight.

" I won't " I found myself saying

Rahul finally let's me go and I started missing his warmth.

My damp clothes were sticking to my skin and the weather is not helping me.

He looked at me from top to bottom. I was burning in his gaze. He removed his jacket and made me wear it.

Soon we reached near our room.

" Thanks for saving me today " I gave Rahul a small smile before entering into my room. Before I open the door, veer opened it from inside

" What are you doing here " I ask him and he looked confused.

" What happened to you and why are you wearing his jacket  " he asked looking little angry.

" I fell into the lake "

Veer removed his jacket off me and handed it over to Rahul. Rahul's jaw was clenched and he looked like he would kill veer any second.

I look down to see my dress still wet. For some reason I felt uncomfortable around veer. Why wasn't I uncomfortable with rahul?

" Come with me " he held my elbow

" Don't touch her " he pushed him to the door.

" Rahul " I yelled and he looks at me with pure anger.

" He's my boyfriend. You can't do that " I yell and he looks taken back. He just nods and left into his room.

" Are you cheating on me with him " veer asks suddenly.

" What no " I yelled. Veer closed his eyes and stormed out.

It was night, I came out of my room and watched everyone from the corridor.

Veer hasn't been lifting my calls. Guess he's angry. But I fucking don't care!

" Do you want to come with me " a voice interrupted my thoughts. As I look back to rahul giving him a small smile. I nod

Woah! People were getting drunk, dancing and etc..

We sat there in the silence and awkwardness between us.

" Why are you silent. I want you to irritate me " I said breaking the silence between us

" Can we just go away from the crowd "

I smile and stood up. He looks at me confused but he stood up. We walked far away from the crowd.

" look if anything happens to me like if a snake bit me or something. I am going to haunt you as a ghost "

" As long as you are with with me nothing can ever touch you " he said. Sincerity in his voice. My heart just skipped a beat.

We lay on a sloppy ground staring at the stars.

" What about veer? You know he's a playboy? " he asked

" He is not a playboy. But if he plays with me. You exactly know what would happen to him " I said

He suddenly started laughing and I was confused. I am sure I wasn't being funny.

" why are you laughing? " I ask

" It's just I feel so bad for him. How did he manage to get him and how did he tolerate you all these years " he laughed

Though I am offended. I smiled seeing him laughing his heart out. It was a rare sight. The laugh felt like melody to my ears.

" I missed you  " Rahul murmured

" What " I was shocked on his confession.

He dint say anything as he kept looking up. My fingers slightly touched his hand. I had no idea what I was doing.

I dint pull it away. I could feel rahul turning his head towards me but I kept looking up difficult to meet his gaze.

He turned his head back pulling his hand away. Something in my heart sank. Why?

But then again suddenly my fingers intertwined with his. He was holding my hand. His eyes were shut and I stared at him.

" Stop staring " he said. His eyes still closed.

I smiled staring back at the sky.
