Sky woke up with a start. Even sleep could not block the horror of that night. Sky felt responsible. Only if he had grabbed Riley. He knew Riley was having a panic attack, and he knew he shouldn't have let him slip away. And that car. The metallic green car. The police said it wasn't the driver's fault. Riley just shot out around that corner. But the worst would always be the puddle of blood around Riley's head on the pavement under the street light. Sky always woke up when he began to hear the sirens.
He looked around, and saw the sun poking through the curtains. He sat up and stretched, sore from sleeping in the armchair. He had been offered rooms and couches to sleep on, but there was no way in hell he would leave this room. The nurse walked in, towards the ever still Riley. After checking all the monitors, he turned to Sky, and they began their daily chat.
Nico Solangelo was the nurse assigned to Riley, and by shear luck was working for the seventh day in a row. His excuses was that if his fiance was working, so was he. Nico had heard about of Sky and Riley's predicament, and offered up his spare room. Sky had said yes, but until Riley recovered, he wasn't going anywhere.
After a consultation with Riley's doctor, Skyler was feeling hopeful. But his doubt was louder.
Sorry, just had to add Nicolo. Don't worry, this is not a crappy fanfiction. It is just a cameo.
