Human Bones Wand

Editor: Atlas Studios

The new wand took longer to make than Ivan had expected, and Ollivander spent the next three days cooped up in his alchemy room, refusing to eat or sleep, relying on the Nourishing Potion to keep him going.

The running of the shop had long since been pushed to the back of his mind. Even though it was the peak period for new students to shop for wands, Ollivander made a notice to temporarily close the shop, delaying the purchase of wands until the day before school started.

The Ministry would have thought Ollivander had been kidnapped if Ivan had not spoken to Pierce.

On the morning of the fourth day, there was a loud crackling noise in the room, startling Ivan, who had just woken up for breakfast. Before he could go in to check, Ollivander came out of the room, his face covered in dirt.

"What happened, Mr. Ollivander?" Yvonne asked quickly.

Having not cared for himself for nearly half a month, Ollivander looked like an old scavenger who had been wandering for a long time, but was extremely excited.

Ollivander didn't have time to explain. He shoved a grayish-white wand into Ivan's hand and urged, "Come on, let's see how it goes."

Yvonne instinctively looked down at the wand, which was about thirteen inches long. It was grey and hard, and Yvonne felt as if her arm were being extended as she held it.

At Ollivander's urging, Ivan gently waved his wand in the direction of the target.

A blinding beam of light shot out of the wand and struck the human-shaped target, causing it to burst into pieces. A large hole appeared in the wall behind the target, through which one could see the living room.

Ivan was pleasantly surprised by the power of the spell. He hadn't put much magic into the spell, but it was almost as powerful as when he cast it with the help of the stone.

However, Ivan was embarrassed by the mess and quickly used the Reduction Charm to restore the house to its original state.

"I'm sorry about the damage to your house, Mr. Ollivander," Ivan apologized.

Ollivander, however, didn't care. He seemed even more excited than Ivan. "I did it… I did it. I knew it would work!"

"Why, haven't you tried it yourself before?" Yvonne asked curiously.

"Of course I did, but I couldn't control the wand…" Ollivander sighed. He had wanted to try the wand himself when it was finished, but it wouldn't work.

At first, Ollivander thought that the wand was a failure, but when he thought about it, he realised that he was probably not strong enough to wield the wand.

"It's possible the wand recognizes people," Ivan said with a shrug.

"You are correct," Ollivander said with a sigh. "The wand chooses its own owner. It is made of your body's tissues, so it will only answer to you." He had been wondering if he could mass-produce such a powerful wand, at least one for himself.

While chatting with Ollivander, Ivan checked the wand's attributes in the system.

Characteristics: Transfiguration (Permission to transform through will)

Description: This is the masterpiece of the British wand-maker Ollivander, crafted from your bones, blood, hair, and other special ingredients.

"Strengthened casting…transfiguration…" Ivan muttered to himself. The former was very intuitive, and it went without saying that the former enhanced the power of the charm.

However, Ivan was surprised by this transformation, as he had never seen it on any other wand.

Was it because of the Boggart blood?

With a thought, Ivan channeled a small amount of magic into his wand, as instructed by the system's instructions, and tried to change its form in his mind.

The next moment, the grayish-white wand transformed into a long walking stick with Ivan's will.

"What is this? You've transfigured the wand?" Ollivander asked in amazement, noting how difficult it was to transfigure a delicate magical object like a wand.

"No, it's an ability of the wand itself," Ivan said, shaking his head. He then went back to experimenting, transfiguring the wand into various forms, only to have them fail when used on a shapeshifter.

It appears that the wand inherited only a small portion of Boggart's powers.

Ollivander was amazed at what he saw. The wand held so many secrets that even Ollivander, its creator, was unaware of them.

"Thank you, Mr. Ollivander. I'm very pleased with this wand. It's time to talk about the payment." Ivan put away the human bone wand and looked at Ollivander magnanimously. "As long as it's not too much, feel free to mention it!"

"That won't be necessary," Ollivander said with a shake of his head. "It's good enough for me to be able to produce this most powerful wand!" As one of the three greatest wandmakers in Europe, there were few things in the wizarding world that Ollivander could not have.

"Of course, if possible, could you leave some hair and blood for me to study?" Ollivander asked.

"Don't even think about it!" Ivan scowled as he refused Ollivander's offer. A wizard's hair and blood were vital ingredients for a Dark Curse, and Ivan had used some of the blood and gore to put Voldemort in his place.

Even though it was highly unlikely that Ollivander would do so, who knew if Grindelwald would get his hands on any of these?

"I'll give you a hundred thousand Galleons for it!" Ivan said generously, taking a bottle of potion out of his wizard's robe and placing it on the table. "And this!"

"A…a hundred thousand Galleons?" Ollivander was stunned. He almost thought he had misheard. It was true that he was not short of money, but a hundred thousand Galleons was not a small sum!

"I think the cost of this wand is worth it, and there's also a fee for your secrecy, understand?" Ivan said sternly.

If word of the new wand ever got out to Ollivander, he would show no mercy…
