Dementor: Blondie…Shorty…Wizard…Slipped Away!

Editor: Atlas Studios

"If you're ready, we can start right now!" Ivan threw the sack away.

Harry's smile froze at Ivan's words, and he nodded solemnly.

Ivan took a few steps back until he was in an inconspicuous corner, then waved his wand, and the rope that bound the sack came free.

Harry looked over nervously, his wand in his hand, thinking over and over the spells he had practised the night before, certain that he would be able to overcome his fear this time.

The next moment, a chill emanated from the bag.

In the enclosed classroom, the oil lamp flickered for a few moments before falling silent, and as the black mist spread, a cold, dead feeling came over Harry.

A withered, scabbed palm touched the edge of the sack, and the opening gradually widened. A mummified corpse in a tattered cloak floated out and hovered in the air.

Faintly, Harry could see a rotting head with a gaping hole under the cloak, and a multitude of unidentifiable substances being sucked into the strange mouth.

Harry raised his wand high above his head, his wrist trembling. He had thought he was prepared for anything, but it was only when he faced the Dementor that he realised how terrifying it was…

With a strange howl, the cloaked mummy appeared in front of Harry, its eerie, terrifying face inches from his own, sending a chill down his spine.

In the nick of time, the incantation he had practised countless times came to mind, and without hesitation, Harry raised his hand.

"Expecto Patronus!"

A silver mist sprang from the tip of the wand and collided with the Dementor, the two opposing forces fighting each other in the confined space.

The silvery-white mist acted as a shield, protecting Harry from the Dementors.

However, since it was his first time using the Patronus Charm, the mist seemed to be too weak to ward off a Dementor.

On the contrary, the Dementor's power kept affecting Harry's mind through the mist, and the white mist grew thinner and thinner, and the withered, rotting hand reached out to him through it…

Harry tried to think of happy things, but his mind was a mess and he could not think of anything, as if there was nothing in life to be happy about, only pain.

In his daze, Harry once again heard someone's desperate cries in his ear. Scenes flashed through his mind, but this time it was a man's voice…

"Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him—"

Vaguely, Harry saw a man stumbling out of the room … followed by a second figure whose face he could not see, who was laughing hysterically, and a flash of green light …

Harry felt as if his brain were about to explode, and the power of the Patronus Charm was reduced to nothing. The Dementor had closed the distance between them, its hand on Harry's neck, and its hood had been removed.

Harry's vision blurred, his head swam, and the fear of death gripped him, but just as he was about to lose control of his magic, the Dementor stopped moving…

The horrible rotten creature turned its head sharply to look at a corner, and Harry, perhaps imagining it, sensed panic in the Dementor…

In fact, Harry was not mistaken; the Dementor's keen senses detected Ivan's raised wand in the corner just before it struck.

Noticing Ivan's golden hair, diminutive stature, and Gryffindor robes, the Dementor let out a howl of fear.

The "delicious meal" that was only inches away from him was thrown out of his mind, and he jerked his hand away from Harry's neck and fled in the opposite direction to Ivan's…

Harry slumped to the floor, breathing heavily, as the black monster raced around the classroom before his blurred vision.

After a while, the Dementor discovered that the abandoned classroom was sealed and all the windows were shut. The only exit was through Ivan's door, and in its panic, the Dementor crawled back into the gunnysack where it was bound.

Because there was a powerful force there that isolated it from the outside world, the Dementor simply retreated into the sack.

"What…what's going on? I haven't even done anything…" Ivan was confused. He was about to wave his wand to release a Patronus Charm to save Harry when the Dementor crawled back into the sack.

Was he that self-conscious?

Ivan had a strange look on his face until he remembered the legendary title of Enemy of the Dementors.

'But am I that horrible?'

Ivan pursed his lips, unable to understand the extreme behaviour of the Dementors. He was clearly a very good man, not an evil wizard…

While Ivan was silently cursing in his heart, Harry, who was barely holding on, suddenly fell to the ground, motionless like a dead fish. If not for his wide eyes, Ivan would have thought he had fainted.

"Harry… Harry, are you okay?" Yvonne asked worriedly as she hurried to Harry's side.

"What just happened? I heard someone shouting my name… that person… Lord Voldemort… the Dark Lord, he used the Killing Curse on me…" Harry was still in a daze, blurting out what he had just seen.

"That's your memory, Harry!" Ivan interrupted, adding emphasis.

"The power of the Dementor brings back the most painful memories buried deep in your mind…"

At this point, Ivan began to regret his decision to use Dementors as an aid to his training. It seemed inappropriate to use Dementors as an aid to his training, and although Harry did not pass out as he had in the original timeline, he seemed to have been more affected by it!

It took Harry a while to realise that there was no such thing as Lord Voldemort or his parents, and that it was all in the past.

"I'm sorry…I'm just…I'm just…" Harry tried to explain, but he stammered and didn't know what to say. In the end, he sighed and looked around before asking.

"Ivan … what about the Dementor?"

"No ~ it's in that bag!" Ivan replied, pointing to the sack.
