A Royal Invitation

Dominion realized he had a lot to do and decided to do what was right in his heart before he ran out of time.

"I must get back to the castle," she said. "I have work to do, and people who are depending on me."

He nodded, his expression serious. "I understand," he said.

"But before you go," he continued, "I would like to ask you a question, if that's alright."

She turned to look at him, her curiosity piqued. "What is it?" she asked.

"I know it's probably too soon," he began, "but I was wondering if you would consider accompanying me to the Bruce ball."

She was taken aback by his question, but also flattered by the invitation. She had heard rumors about the Bruce ball, and knew that it was one of the most prestigious events of the season. To be asked to attend by someone like the Marquess was an honor, but also a great responsibility. She hesitated, unsure of what to say.

"I understand if you need some time to think about it," the Marquess said, sensing her uncertainty. "I know it's a big decision, and I don't want to pressure you. But I hope you'll consider it."

She looked into his eyes, and saw only sincerity and respect. She knew that he was not trying to take advantage of her, but was genuinely interested in her company. And she couldn't deny that she was intrigued by the idea of attending the ball with him.

"I need some time to consider it," she said at last. "But I promise to give you an answer soon."

He smiled and released her hand. "I appreciate your honesty," he said. "And I will respect whatever decision you make."

She gave him a small smile, and turned to leave. But as she reached the door, she turned back and said, "Thank you for asking, my lord. It is an honor to be considered."

"The honor is all mine, my lady," he replied. "Good day."

With that, she left the room, her mind racing with thoughts of the Bruce ball and what it might mean for her. Could this be the beginning of something new? Could the Marquess be the one to finally capture her heart? Or was she simply getting caught up in the excitement of the moment?

She pushed these thoughts aside as she walked through the castle, intent on focusing on her duties for the day. But as she went about her work, she couldn't help but wonder if the Marquess was thinking of her, too.
