lies (The past that hunts Emily)

"The target is on the move", a man with a robot-like voice spoke out while looking at the handsome man seated on the head chair in the spacious tech-filled room. It looked like the living space for a hacker filled with littered bad of chips and leftover foods on the ground, and dirty clothes in one corner all gaming devices and computers switched on without being operated, but the man seated didn't mind that as if he had seen the room in a much worse state than this.

"Do you think she has a linking to what is going on Mario"? the mysterious man seated asked while rubbing the large white cat seated on his lap. The cat refused to sit on the floor and scrunch up its nose in disgust at the room while seating on its owner's lap

"Do you think I am God Ajax"?. Mario grunted, "why the hell do you think she has an idea about what is going on by just going to the Mini Mart. Is she sherlock or something". The cute teenage boy wearing rabbit pajamas with rabbit ears huffed and he seemed similar to the cute bottoms in bl Mangas, not similar to the often spoken about sadistic little God z hacker which he was.

Patting his head Ajax spoke, "Sometimes I wonder if we are from the same parents, don't worry yourself about it I know Nadia should have uncovered something, or else she wouldn't have confirmed the request for the interview so soon. So you go get some sleep and leave the hard work for the grownups ". He spoke as he made his way to leave the room not wanting to say more than he had already spoken to tattle tale who was eager to know what Ajax was hiding from him.

"I am nineteen, an adult and not a little child, I am little god z and the undefeated hacking champion and you of all people should know that hiding any secrets will do you no good". Mario spoke while a vein popped out on his forehead, with a threatening smirk on his face

"Yes whatever you say, little God z" Ajax spoke as he chuckled at his brother's childish antics while his cat followed from behind. He wouldn't dare say anything to this brother of his even if he knew a way about the situation, not even his trusted assistant had an idea about what was going on.

On reaching the door he turned back to look at Mario before speaking, "Get someone to clean this room. We do not have cleaners in this place for nothing least everyone knows we are rearing a pig at the mansion, even Mukila thinks this place stinks", as he points to the cat who sat in front of him not daring to sit on the place its master had not stepped on staring at the room owner in disdain before meowing and nudging at Its owner's leg as if begging for them to leave. Well, like pet-like owners they say, Ajax being a clean freak the cat being the same.

Looking at the pitiful white cat with its big teary eyes staring at him, Ajax chuckles as he picks it up from the floor and exits the room. Staring at the scene that played in front of him, Mario almost burst into tears. 'Did a cat just look at me in disdain'?. He questioned himself.

"Sorry, Emily I wasn't listening",

"It's okay, these are my friends Micah and Milo", she spoke while gesturing to the men who sat on the sofa, the two men sharing some resemblance.

"Hello Nadia, I am Micha and this is my younger brother Milo, the tall lean man with a buzz cut introduced himself and Milo his brother who was still sitting and dressed in gothic-looking clothes before putting his hand forward for a handshake.

Nadia shakes his hand and she could feel the coolness radiating from his palm the same way it did when she was caught coming back from the mini-mart.

Still unknown to Nadia that Emily had arrived before the stated time, she rushes to their apartment only to find the door open with Emily and two men inside paranoid she turns around to leave without being noticed when suddenly a rough cold pair of hands grab her wrist making her flinch with his touch. It was nothing like the touch of the handsome man at the club which was warm and refreshing. Thinking of the stranger she met at the club a blush crept up her cheeks and she curses herself for thinking about a man in a situation she was in.

"If it isn't Nadia, right Emily?", the man with a buzz cut asked Emily as if the person he held wasn't Nadia. His statement caused Nadia's face to turn pale.

'What were they doing here? I thought Emily said she was coming in an hour, what the hell are they here early, I hope she hasn't discovered anything?.' Nadia's face turned paler at her thoughts of leaving the apartment being exposed to them.

"Yes, she is, Nadia why aren't you sitting?" Emily asked patting the space next to her not noticing Nadia's pale face, but it didn't go unnoticed by the gothic-dressed man who stared at her as if looking through her soul. Composing herself inwardly she walks towards the seat and sat down looking at the two pairs of eyes staring at her.

"So Nadia what did you get"? Emily asked while eyeing the paper bag in her hands.

"It's nothing just some essentials and ice cream I got from the mini mart down the street and if you may excuse me", she got up from her seat "I got to go keep the stuff" Nadia spoke without looking back as she walked towards the stairs.

"What kind of ice cream did you get?" a hoarse and unfamiliar voice asked stopping her from walking. She turned around to see that it was the gothic-dressed man who hasn't spoken a word since she entered the apartment.

"Umm.... well it's...",

"It's what?". The man asked again his voice colder than before, and as if it was a planned act Emily and Mario butted in on questions her.

"Yes, Nad tell us the flavor you have there". They both spoke at the same time while looking at her. With no other option in mind, Nadia brought out the vanilla-flavored ice cream from the paper bag and showed it to them.

"Why are you all acting weird, it's not like ice cream kills or something" she shrugged before walking up the stairs away from the prying eyes of Emily and her friends.

After leaving the sitting room did the atmosphere turn cold.

"I thought you said she was going to leave Emily", Micah questioned.

"I also taught the same, but it seems that she changed her mind so I want us to do the same, let's give her one more chance please. I don't want her to face what she passed through again". Emily close her eyes as she remembered past events.
