Lily's POV - 7

If someone told me that my boss would sell me off to the highest bidder, I wouldn't have been surprised much. However, it still stung that he so easily cut off my chance to take a break just because one of his guests demanded for me personally. Wait, that didn't sound right.

Still, I all but stomped my feet on the ground. "But Sir, that wasn't the plan, and it's short notice. I've already prepared for everything, and cancelling would be devastating."

He looked at me with a mixture of pity and nonchalance. "Well, I'm sorry, but there's little I can do about that. Mr. Lucien is our top guest, and as such, we have to treat him well." He looked at him and they shared a smile. "Wouldn't you agree?"

For some seconds, only one thought played in my head. He lied about his name as well, and I almost laughed at the shared deception. Yet, I frowned at the both of them and tried to think of a way out. "Okay, I understand, but can't it be pushed or reassigned...I don't know."

"No, Lily. It's just for two weeks, so do your best and don't let the organization down." With that, he bent his head to look at some files scattered on his table. That was my cue to leave, but I stared at him for a moment, before standing up to go.

On my way out, he called me. "And Lily, the first tour is this afternoon so be prepared. Ateg will handle the other guests, while you handle Mr. Lucien. Alright?"

"Yes," I grumbled out a reply, and shut the door behind me. A few seconds later, I heard the door open and even without being told, I knew Lucien had come out. There was nothing that could convince me he wasn't purposely doing this, but to what end? Like clockwork, he walked over to my desk and smiled.

"Aren't you going to at least show me around?" He asked with a hint of laughter in his voice, and I furiously turned to him with the tour schedule in my hand. It wasn't yet time for the official walk, but I had a feeling it didn't matter. Not after my boss sold me off.

"Of course, I will." I walked ahead of him, and it didn't even take three seconds before I felt his gaze on my body. As weird as the situation was, I found myself thinking about other things I would rather be doing. With him. My face felt red, so I kept moving forward until I calmed down.

"We'll go to one of the water interests in the Bahamas. Is that okay?"

"Of course." We fell into step as we moved out of the hotel. The first sight we would be heading to was just a five minute walk, so we walked in silence while I earnestly prayed he didn't say anything. Thankfully, he kept to himself until we got to the docks.

I pointed to the water, and tried to increase my voice. "This is one of the best–"

"Why did you lie about your name?"

I turned to him. "What?" The noise of the engines overpowered his voice, so I didn't hear what he said. But judging from how he was looking at me strangely though, I didn't think I wanted to know. He cocked a brow and then moved closer to me.

"Why did you lie about your name?" His eyes stared at me so internally, and I had to look away. Why was he suddenly asking me that, like he didn't do the same as well? My eyes strayed to his clothes and behaviour, and while I got the impression that he was rich and probably didn't want people recognizing him, I still frowned. Sure, a woman could easily lie but a man lying about that?

It felt weird. "I don't know. It just seems proper at the moment, and besides, I didn't know you."

"But you slept with me." Touche. Now, he was smiling fully, while I grimaced and fixed my gaze on the slowly darkening sky.

"Well,... I didn't think it would get that far."

"Interesting." He seemed to be thinking about something, and I was all too eager to get back to the tour and be fine with it.

"Yeah, so this is the first pier in the city and it houses over thirty ships. There are some over there, and each day, they somehow find passengers or just tourists to carry across the river," I explained, pointing to a few of them sitting idly in the water. Lucien walked over to me and nodded his head.

"Do you want to try it?" I asked, and our eyes met again. This time, I quickly looked away while he chuckled.

"Sure. Let's go." We began to walk towards them, but after some seconds, he held my hand. "Is that the only thing there is to try here?"

My brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?" It was only the first day, so certainly, there would be other places to go to. The beach, nightclubs, amusement parks, and the rest of that.

However, he shrugged. "Why don't we do something different?" He turned to me fully and just then, I noticed his much taller he was. I was hardly reaching his shoulders. "Just like before."

He looked at my lips, and I turned away in surprise. A part of me badly wanted to just wrap my arms around his body and do him again, but the rational part of me fought harder. Was this going to be my life for the next two weeks?

"Mr. Lucien, can we just forget about that night? Things are supposed to remain professional between the both of us, please."

He drew closer to me and I fought hard not to swallow. "But do you really want that? There are a lot of other things we could be doing." His hand lightly grazed my elbow, and I shuddered.

"Yes, yes, that's what I want." There was an unreadable expression in his eyes, but it certainly wasn't delight. He looked offended at my suggestion, and even before I responded, something told me it wouldn't be that easy.

"That's not what I want, Lily." His eyes strayed to my cleavage again, and I was torn between covering up and just letting it be. It wasn't like he didn't see it that night, and I recalled how his hands and lips felt on them. Oh, god. A bead of sweat ran down my head, and he smiled at me.

"Not after what happened that night, especially how you left me high and dry."

"But you...you slept off!" I blurted out and he recoiled in surprise. "Or, at least it seemed like you did." I bent my head for a moment while his eyes glazed over. Mine strayed to the water and before Lucien could respond, I scurried over to the docks and told the guy to set up the boats.

Hopefully, this would be enough to distract him from talking about night again. However, he strolled over to me and brushed my lower back. "I can assure you that won't happen again."

Lucien's not going anywhere, it seems...
