16 - She's gotten the memo

As the time for the beach party neared, most of the tourists came back to get prepared. They all had different outfits on, and it made me almost wish I could join them. I had finally managed to convince Lucien to allow me rest, but it wasn't without condition.

"What do you want in return?" I asked an hour earlier, when he told me I would be indebted to him.

"Don't worry about it yet. I'll tell you when it's time," he responded and smiled mysteriously before walking to join Ateg. Unlike me, my colleague was fully pumped for the party, and throughout the half hour they waited for the others, he gave me long glances and it made me very self conscious. Aside from the fact that I hadn't gotten a chance to shower yet, my constant limping made it obvious that something was wrong. Still, I knew the reason for his stares had nothing to do with my injury.
