(MILES)
I'm lucky to have seen the SUV before impact. I didn't have enough time to swerve the vehicle, but I have enough time to press the gas hard. It is by that that I manage to save us from being T boned. It smashes on the rear right side of our car, causing our car to spin wildly and settle at the intersection.
Panic slithers through me because it is Arlo's side of the car that took the impact. Thank God he had his seatbelt on. The airbag deployed too. But since the SUV slammed into us, he hasn't made a sound. I pray that he is alright.
I bang my head on the side of the car on impact. Lucky for us, the airbag deployed instantly with a sound similar to that of a gunshot. It blurs my vision for a minute as it opens. An acrid scent, similar to that of fireworks fills the air. The sounds of metal crunching on metal and breaking glass fill my ears.
