The Joy after Sorrow

Last night, the authorities reported that three junior students were found heavily injured and one tragically lost their life after being shot in the head on the rooftop of Senior Academy of Advanced Education. Officers have speculated that the perpetrator used a single weapon, however, details of the incident are still being investigated.

The following morning, the school sent out emails notifying students that the day would proceed as normal despite the tragic event. As expected, there were fewer students present than usual, some appearing to be anxious. To respond to the situation, the school closed off access to the rooftop and organized a "special" event during the lunch break until the end of the school day.

The lunch bell rang an hour and a half earlier than usual, without prior announcement from the school. The student council, who some students are suspicious of for unknown reasons, hosted the special event in the gymnasium. A member of the council named Son addressed the student body and introduced an activity called "Hunters and Beasts".

Participants were randomly assigned to either the hunter or beast group, with the objective of hunters being to locate and activate twenty-four emergency switches throughout the building. The beasts' aim was to tag the hunters and prevent them from initiating the switches. If all switches were activated, the hunters would win and an alarm would sound. However, if all hunters escaped the building, the beasts would win. If any hunters remained after two and a half hours, their location would be revealed to the beasts.

A five-minute period would be enforced during which hunters could not initiate switches, and only 50 hunters were allowed in the building at a time. The event would take place in Building C, which had forty rooms, four floors, twenty-five beasts, and two-hundred and fifty hunters. Students were reminded that security cameras were installed throughout the building specifically for the event, and cheating or violence would not be tolerated.

As the event began, students were left wondering if this activity was an appropriate response to the tragedy that occurred the previous night.
