His nightmare

"I am so sorry for my associate's inexcusable behavior Mr. Harvey", said James, "she has never been like this before". Paul could only nod, staring down at nothing in particular.

_Where the hell has she been, all this while, why haven't we bumped into each other even once in a small town like this, is she married?_

"I think we should call it a day", Paul managed to say "I'll contact your secretary to arrange another meeting".

James nodded and simultaneously rose from his seat for the first time since he sat down, too shocked to even move a finger. He shook Paul before disappearing to join his associate whom have seen herself out almost immediately their interviewee appeared.

When he was finally alone, Paul sank into the nearest chair gripping the arm as he tried to steady his breathing. Events from ten years came flashing in his head as vividly as they were just happening. Ever since the last time, he has been trying to find her, to at least know she is doing okay, but it's like she has disappeared from the face of Earth completely. There where moments he dreaded she might have died, possibly, but he couldn't wrap his brain around it. He sincerely wanted to know about her well being but he has never willed for them to meet again, for so many reasons, one of them being that she's a witch!

"Sir, your guests left rather abruptly, is everything okay?" Patrick asked but Paul couldn't respond immediately, everything in his library, even his favorite and most prized shelf seemed to be mocking him, or where they haunting him? He couldn't possibly differentiate.

"Yes Patrick, thank you" he managed to say but Patrick did not buy that because he hasn't moved an inch.

_Not now Patrick_

Paul cursed under his breath and slowly rose from his almost crouching position and left the library before he snapped at the elderly man. His Butler could only stare at him, mouth slightly gaped, he has never seen his master in such a mood.

"Catherine Elijah, You are impossible"! James yelled immediately he entered the car and was about to start it "No you know what, you are driving" he shoved the keys to her palm intentionally hurting her. If it was any other day, Cat would have laughed at his overreaction but she only sighed and moved to the driver's seat without coming out of the car. When James opened the passenger's door and find her seat empty he was speechless, what exactly the hell is wrong with this woman? Somebody needs to reminds her she's a lady and a mother or what?

Catherine was lost in the train of her thoughts, now sitting across James in his office as he was busy blabbing about the fact that she just blew up the only chance of getting that ghost interviewed. "Are you even listening, Cat?" He knocked dramatically at the desk when she didn't respond, she almost jumped and blinked "Pardon?" "Do you know that man from anywhere? You are acting like you've been long lost enemies" Cat only blinked.

_Oh dear James, long lost enemies we are!_

"It's late," she said as she rose from her seat.

"I better get going." "I wanted to take you out for dinner before you messed everything up"

_This dude is never backing out, is he?_

"I am sorry for today, James" she said

"Will you at least tell me where and how you know him?"

"Good night, boss!" faking a yawn to prevent any further questions and objections.

"I'll see you tomorrow Cat, do have a good night"

The 20mins drive from her office today seemed like 20hours. She wanted to scream. She actually did screamed. Couldn't even recognize her own voice. Did she really think she can hide from him forever? It was such a short notice from her boss that she forgot to read the short note about their interviewee.

"Paul William Harvey!" she said out loud as if trying to convince herself he might not be the one. Ten years ago, a sight of PWH will give her butterflies but tonight it's only bats.
