HER SON

{NOTE! ~THIS IS A STANDALONE SEQUEL OF 'HER BLOOD'} In a world where immortality reigns, life knows no end. However, immortals are divided into two categories: the strong and the weak. The weak can be easily killed, often possessing vulnerabilities that make them susceptible to the superior immortals. * Tragedy strikes when my father, a weak immortal with a fated weakness, is killed by a man I once revered. This man, who cannot be vanquished, has also passed down his trait to me through my mother. I hold both my mother and this man accountable for my father's demise and all the ensuing events. Even though my mother sent the man into hiding to atone for the pain caused, I am certain that he will return. Only this time, it will be different. He will come back to complete what he started, to seek vengeance and forcefully take back what belonged to him. ***

35. WEEK 2

"This is SO good, Vee."

Vivian chuckled as she watched how Keturah emptied the bowl and even tried licking it.

     "If you want more, I…"

"Oh yes I do need more, Vee." Keturah quickly agreed and stretched forth her hand with the empty ceramic bowl in Vivian's direction.

Keturah's accent was melodious to the ears and most times, Vivian didn't mind sitting down to listen to her go on and on about things.

She had an amazing British accent, coupled with her gentle voice.

As Vivian went to dish more of the vegetable meat salad, she began to question her.

"Were you born and bred in England, Keturah?"

"Yes, Vee." Keturah answered while watching the woman's every move. She got so used to shortening Vivian's name as 'Vee' and Vivian didn't mind it.

"Are your parents there right now?" She returned back to the kitchen table and passed the ceramic bowl back to Keturah whose eyes lit with delight.
