CHAPTER 67

Skai's brows puckered.

Not everything was about Damien Raphael!

She realised then she had been in his space for about a day already. And not knowing how long her sick leave would last, she needed to get things sorted out before work resumed.

Similarly, she did not wish for Kiera to call probably from having Damien question the latter. Although she mentioned Jared to her once, she never could tell what Kiera would think when she slept over — sex.

Besides, the last thing she wanted was to worry her friends about her health.

"Skai?" She blinked at the mention of her name. It was getting constant, she noted inwardly but having grown up in such a family, she found solace in her thoughts more often.

"Skai, is this about Damien's call?" Jared inquired again.

"No." Her eyes met his. Sharp as they may have been, Jared saw a hint of something calm. "It's not."
