After trying the telephone number that Skai had called and found nothing, Damien thought carefully about the reason why her phone was out of service.
When he could not think of who best to call, to avoid drawing attention to her, he decided to try her phone number to see what exactly was wrong.
Surprisingly, it rang, but the phone in his hand did not.
'Oh, she's gotten her line back and a new phone.' Damien noted. He waited patiently until Skai answered the call. Judging from her tone of voice, he knew she had no idea he was there that day, nor the fact that he had her belongings in his possession.
"Skai. Thank goodness, I've been…"
"Skai?" Damien furrowed. Thanks to his sharp senses, he immediately knew who that voice belonged to. "I'm back."
He froze.
Back?
Where was Skai?
