CHAPTER 32
Skai pried her eyes open when the sound of her phone's ringtone set off, forcing her brain to awaken.
"Hmm?" Using her sleepy eyes, her fingers reached for her bag on her bedside table and removed it.
"I'm cominnngg…" Skai muttered under her breath as she took out her phone from her bag. "Tsk. So persistent in the morning."
Without checking the caller, Skai connected the call, placing it on her left ear.
She turned to her side, her droopy eyes doing so little to keep her head awake.
Still, Skai wasn't properly rested. Shifting on the bed, she propped her head against the pillow until she was finally in a good position.
"Hmm. Hello?"
"Took you long enough." Skai's eyes flew open. Whether in dreamland or awake, she recognized that voice anytime.
Gulp!
"Damien."
"Hello, Skai."
Her heart skidded. Her mind drifted as the memory from the previous day came rushing in.
