Mrs Lu was so shocked at the news Han Eu-meh revealed to her. Never had she thought of it being the case.
"Why didn't you want me to tell Aotian?" Mrs Lu asked, confused. "He would see her for who she really is."
Han Eu-meh sighed, her shoulders dropping. "I know I should not keep such things away from Aotian as it concerns his heart. But I thought it was already too late. He already seems smitten by her."
"Nonsense!" Mrs Lu stood abruptly, her expression marred by anger. "Smitten or not, he shouldn't be fooled by her."
"He shouldn't. But telling this to Aotian may lead to a confrontation. I don't want the both of you to end up in an argument," Han Eu-meh justified, her hands fiddling with the hem of her gray dress.
Mrs Lu sighed and sat, taking Han Eu-meh's hand in hers. "You've always had the best I treat for us in your heart. I wish Aotian could see that and choose you over that manipulative woman."
