『Welcome to Highschool!』

Dressed in pumpkin shorts, a collared black blouse, ocean green tie and fingerless gloves, a pair of converse and leggings. She even wore a pair of non-prescription square ocean green framed glasses. Her boyish cut had fringed bangs, the sides were cut into short layers. This brought out her ears and soft facial features. She looked like a complete tomboy, which made people turn their heads. However the real head turner was her luminescent odd colored eyes.

She sat there in the back seat of the Danver's automobile, a satchel in her lap. Her eyes remained out the window. She didn't understand why she couldn't just fly where she wanted. Go where she wanted. The day before, the day she arrived, Eliza had somehow convinced her to stay for a while.

Her cover was being an orphan and transfer student from Greece. Her transcripts and identity had all been forged. She had a Greece American Citizenship and she was given a new surname, Liades, which allowed her to fit in more as her given name was transformed into Hekate. Though the name itself was more of a north western, closer to French, it wasn't all that hard to believe mixed heritage.

She looked over towards the direction of the school bus in front of the car. Kara and Alex Danvers were taking the bus, while she was being driven behind them.

Apparently the woman wanted to get to know her more. That and learn more of why she was locked away for a decade. On top of that, she was wearisome, this girl had a tragic background. She didn't know how well she would acclimate as Kara herself was still having problems fitting in.

"So..." Eliza's eyes looked at the girl in the back seat, curious. "Why were you locked away?" Kara wouldn't tell her, there wasn't much to tell. It was a sudden sentencing, very little evidence, but a negative verdict was pushed through anyway.

Hekate narrowed her sight on Eliza, "Blunt." She muttered hearing this question, but she had expected it. There might be a criminal living with her, so why wouldn't she want to be in the know. "For aiding and abetting a known criminal, who entered my home critically wounded. I recognized him as a former Lawmaker from the house of Veks, one who often visited for dinner. As far as I knew, he was friend to the family. So, I treated him and in exchange, I was incarcerated."

Raising a brow when she heard this, "And what happened to the man?"

"Jumped to his death, before he could be captured by the Police, after voicing his concern one last time about how the world was going to end and we were doing nothing to stop it."

"He jumped.. Right in front of you?" Eliza frowned hearing all of this.

"Without pause," Hekate yawned slightly as she leaned her head against the cold surface of the window. She could feel the sun bathing her face with its gentle rays filtered by the atmosphere.

Eliza shook her head slightly hearing this and continued to drive. The rest of the way there they were silent, but it seemed they both gained and understanding. Her childhood had been ruined, she was locked away, and before it could begin again, it was stripped from her once more.

When they arrived at the highschool, the car pulled up to the sidewalk and she opened the door. Stepping out, she whispered "Thank you," before closing the door. Giving a slight wave to Eliza as she drove off, she turned and looked at Alex and Kara who were standing there. Looking at her.

Alex didn't stay there long however, giving her new housemate a slight wave the moment she noticed her best friend. She quickly vanished amongst the social caste of the highschool students.

The night before, she had been offered to sleep in the same bed as Alex or Kara, but she denied. Instead she had chosen to sleep on the Sofa as sleeping with a person always kept her away. The reason behind this was due to their body heat, it wasn't something she was used to and she enjoyed sleeping in cold places.

This left Hekate and Kara standing there alone as students brushed past. While some of them gave Hekate a glance, she didn't get much interaction.

She was standing next to the school weirdo.

She could hear the people whispering about her. Kara seemed unaffected.

Hekate smiled slightly at Kara for a moment, tugging a hand in her pocket while she fixed the satchel on her shoulder and held out her elbow.

Kara blinked a few times and looked at her for a moment before smiling, hooking her arm around Hekate's. "I'll introduce you to some of my friends!" She announced, tugging the girl along, the strength was immense, but they easily evened each other out.

However the first thing she noticed was someone who was watching them from the corner of her eye. A flash of red eyes. In that moment a janitor was highlighted by the interface overlay.

『This person is not who they seem. That is J'onn J'onzz , the Martian ManHunter, he took over the United States Department of Extra-Normal Operations and assumed the identity of Director Hank Henshaw. Martians can shapeshift and read minds, even phase through solid matter and fly. This Martian in particular had defeated Superman in the past. He intends to protect Kara and Alex Danvers as their father died protecting him.』

Right as she took in this information, she unhooked her arm with Kara. "I'll come find you later, I have to go... To the office." She gave a light nod to her friend and gave a slight wave.

Kara creased her brow, both disappointed and could definitely see she was lying. However she only wanted to see the good in this girl, who appeared to have been wrongly incarcerated in the past.

Hekate watched as Kara went off to see her friends in homeroom, while she turned around and began walking casually towards the janitor. Just as she was about to place a hand on their back to get their attention, they turned around to gaze down at her.

Hekate looked at the name tag on the jumpsuit he was wearing, it said John Kelly on it. He was a tall sturdily built man of what looked to be Japanese descent. His hair was gelled back, spikey. His face seemed worn, but it wasn't old, it was clear he had been through a lot.

In that moment he seemed rather puzzled about her two toned eyes, their luminescence was unnatural in human biology. Were they some sort of contacts? Mutation? Caution was written on the martian's face.

"Mister uh... Kelly, was it? I have a question that I need help with in Astronomy class. Do you by any chance know how far away Mars is from the planet Earth?" The way she worded it did sound a little weird, she referred to world as The Planet Earth, instead of Planet Earth. It sounded as if she weren't from here. More so, the coincidence of her asking about Mars felt strange.

"What was your name again...?" The voice didn't seem match his visible age, he sounded young and stronger. Yet he also seemed a bit awkward due to this confrontation. He had clearly been caught off guard.

"Hekate Liades," She smiled at the man as she held out a hand for him to shake.

His eyes gazed down as he went to take her hand, pausing for a brief second as he noticed a crest embroidered onto the back of the fingerless leather gloves she was wearing. It was a Kryptonian Crest. His eyes immediately shot up and looked at her as her head tilted to the side.

When she gripped his hand, he gripped back, a coy smile forming over his lips.

"I'm a transfer student under the care of the Danver Family, it's a pleasure to meet you, J'onn." She didn't say it like the name spelled out on the name tag, instead she said his true first name.

The janitor acted as if it was natural, laughing as if he was jokingly saying, "Are you a Telepath?"

"It's not morally correct to hit on students less than half a quarter your age, Mister J'onzz." The two were shaking hands for an abnormally long amount of time. Though no one seemed to pay much mind, it might have just been a foreigner thing.

"So how did you find out about me?" J'onn J'onzz simply stared down at her curiously. The weariness was going away as the crowds of teens vanished into the classrooms.

"Hiding in plain sight only works for certain individuals. I can see through all of your guises once put my sights on you." The tone she used was eerily friendly, as if she was just giving him information, practically telling him she could see him no matter where he was around her.

"Hm... Sounds useful." He caressed his chin slightly before glancing over towards the hall monitor who was walking down the hall. "Would you be interested in a job?"

Raising a brow slightly, she stared at him for a moment and released her hold on his hand. Slipping her little fingers out of his hand, briefly brushing them past his palm. "Job? Don't I need my working papers or something?"

"You are well informed."

"I originally refused to stay with the Danvers, but Eliza said something along the lines of not being able to survive on my own until I have a job, as an adult." Her eye twitched slightly as she referred to what was told to her the night before, the day she arrived.

"Oooo... She is a smart woman," he shook his head and smiled a bit. "A strong one that." He lowered his head, obviously feeling a bit guilty for allowing Jeremiah to go as he did. "I'd like to bring you in off the books into the DEO. I'm going to assume you know what that is."

『The Department of Extra-Normal Operations, simply known as the D.E.O., is a governmental organization created following Superman's arrival on Earth to monitor extraterrestrial presence on the planet. P.S. They have Kryptonite, a toxic xenomineral that is toxic to Kryptonians.』

Letting out a light sigh at the information appeared to her, she looked away from him for a moment. He could threaten her with this. Though his presence wasn't at all threatening, not to her at least. "Only if you get rid of your stores of Kryptonite."

Just like that J'on J'onzz opened his mouth slightly as he was reminded by superman's reaction to him using it as a contingency. "If any Kryptonians invade in the future, we will be defenseless against them!" He yelled in a very hushed tone, turning away from her as he thought to himself.

"What if Lex Luthor gets his hands on that material? I bet he has strings in your corrupt government," As she spoke of the government being corrupt, it was clear she had been on the internet. Everything was transparent there. Independent blogs, freedom of speech. There were many instances of corruption in the United States and even worldwide which had been brought to light on the web.

Taking out a business card, he held it out to the girl to take.

She took it from his grasp without much hesitation, looking over it, she looked up at him. The item was lined with lead, she couldn't see through it at all. It was likely there was a tracker in the card. "This is..?"

"I will consider your request, as you consider mine. I recognize your crest from Kal-El's archives. The House of An, I know what they stand for. Many of them were Lawmakers, known for upholding the Law, bringing Justice and upholding their Integrity. You come from honorable blood."

Hekate let out a quiet sigh hearing the voice of the man ringing in her head now, not because he had infiltrated her mind, but because he was praising her family line. He was using flattery. "The 'honorable' House of An abandoned me." With a sneer, she looked over the card one last time before blasting it with her heat vision. She lit it on fire and tossed it into the nearby mop bucket where it sizzled out.

J'on J'onzz blinked several times having heard what she said and watched as she darted away with super speed towards her classroom. It appeared he had hit a nerve he hadn't meant to. She didn't leave a trace behind, no one saw her, she even avoided the CCTV cameras in the halls.
