Heavenly Chronicles

Iris and Leon didn't wake till it was evening. Before they woke up, I did a little survey, I found a whole, when I went inside, it was a mess, parts that seemed to come from a train scattered everywhere. I could guess that the train caused everything. It was also like when the train exploded in the underground subway, we were under the forest, it exploded the whole place and we landed outside.

By the time they woke up, I had already started packing our things so that we could start moving.

"What are you doing?" Leon said sleepily.

"What does it seem like I am doing?" I replied still packing.

"But its already dusk" Iris was already standing.

"More reason we should start going, the longer we stay here, the more time the Spartians have to grow powerful and kill"

Truth be told, all I wanted was to prove that guy in my dream that I was worthy. I had finished packing and attempted to carry our bags all together, but it was so heavy that I ended on the floor with my butt hitting it hard.

"Theo, what's up with you?" Leo rushed to help me.

"Yeah, you're weirder than usual"

Leo and I gave her dagger stares.

"What? Only stating the facts"

I told them all about my dream, how it felt so real. They listened to me and told me I shouldn't take it lightly.

"He said it was an Astral projection, that would mean it was real, just that it was your spirit, not your physical body" Iris said.

"Yeah Iris is right, but what did he mean by vessel?" Leo asked.

"I don't know but its safe to assume it might be a demon" Iris replied.

"No way, I don't want any demon taking over my body"

"Don't worry, I am pretty sure that when he knows you're an idiot, he will change his mind" Iris smirked.

" Haha, real funny" I said before standing up.

In a way it was nice knowing Satan existed, because when something went wrong we had someone to blame. For example, when your train explodes when you are attacked by fallen angels and you are almost incinerated. Most people would think its bad luck; but when you're a hunter, you understand some divine forces are trying to ruin your day.

So there we were, at night, Leon, Iris and I, walking through the woods of New Jersey riverbank. We knew we where close to the city because of the lights glowing from the buildings.

Leon seemed to be thinking, he murmured to himself "Fallen angels, three after us, that's a great start"

Leon did not need to remind me, I was in shock myself, I could still hear the explosions, but Iris kept pulling us along, saying "Come on, the faster we can finish this, the better"

'Most of our belongings was back there,' I reminded her. 'We should be even happy our food and clothes made it.'

'Well, maybe if you hadn't decided to jump into the fight –'

'What did you want me to do? Let you get killed?'

'You didn't need to protect me, Theo. I would've been fine.'

'Yeah right, Sliced like a sandwich' Leon added with sarcasm 'But fine'

'Shut up' Iris said.

Iris didn't speak to me for some-while, when we got to where the lights got dimmer, she stopped me and said something I wasn't really expecting from her.

"Thanks Theo, for saving my life"

I smiled and wanted to say something cool like "Yeah, its no problem" but she cut my joy short by pinching me on the shoulders.

We kept on walking until we came on a deserted road between the trees. At the ending, there was a small shop, it had an eerie vibe but the hell, everything seemed to be eerie now.

Getting to the entrance, Iris tried to stop us but hey, I waas hungry

'Hey…' Iris warned.

'The lights are on inside,' Leon said. 'Maybe it's open.'

'Snack bar,' I said wistfully.

'Snack bar,' he agreed.

'Are you two crazy?' Iris said. 'This place is weird.'

We ignored her.

Before we could go in, the door creaked and man who seemed to be in his 70's, he wore black jeans that was worn during the 1900's and a very big shirt.

He looked at us intensely before signaling us to come inside, we did even though Iris insisted to stay outside. Yet again we ignore her, she didn't come in with us. The place felt so sad, turns out it was a small apartment just some seats where there and there wasn't even any television.

Something felt off, well that was before the man started smiling.

"I barely get visitors, I'm so happy to finally have some guests after this while"

"Sir what about your family?" I regretted those words instantly after his reply

"I have no family"

'Oh I'm sorry'

"No worries, you didn't mean to" his eyes narrowed to the medallion on Leon's neck.

"My dear, where did you get such precious item?" he asked Leon.

It took time for Leon to knew he was talking about the medallion, Leon looked at me before replying.

"A friend of mine gave it to me"

"Really? Well a friend of mine gave me something similar like that a long time ago" he said

Leon and I looked at each other.

'You don't believe me, wait here let me get it' He said before standing up to go to the back. Immediately he left, Iris came in.

"Guys, you need to see this?"

"But?"

"No buts, come now" She said before dragging us outside and to the back.

What I saw almost made me faint, it were human bodies that had been half eaten and beside them were old sheds of what seemed to be a large snake, that had wings and legs.

"We need to get out of here" Leon said.

"Hmm, I didn't expect you to find this" We turned to see the old man, who wasn't old anymore, he looked around fifty. But somehow I knew it was the same old man.

"I was hoping on eating you painlessly by freezing you and preserve your body since you were good guests but I guess I would have to kill you now" He seemed to start having a tantrum but he started to transform.

Iris eyes narrowed, she brought out her dagger, Leon activated his armor, I looked at the man well he was now a snake headed, land dragon.

"Well, time for some practice" I said as I pulled my katana, and we all charged at each other.
