New Life of Poor Girl

In one of the villages in Kampung Laut district in the Cilacap area, There was a poor girl who was swayed because her parents was broke. Her name is Dewi Ayu( Dewi means Goddess, Ayu means Pretty/Beautiful ), she comes from Solo city but because her mother used to remarry to Cilacapian Javanese, cause of that, she became living in Cilacap.

However, when she was 14 years old, she was abandoned by her mother because she had too much trouble like chatter, seek attention, and many more that bothered her mother and her new papa. in addition, she was also required to drop out of school because of the high cost and her parent don't wanna pay it.

Because she was evicted, she became living in a slum in her grandmother's house. Dewi lived with her grandmother for almost 4 years. Dewi was very happy because her grandmother really cared about her. her grandmother also sent Dewi back to school so that she could become a great teacher in the future. they live by selling Indonesian traditional food, receive assistance from the government and donations from the surrounding community which also help the economy of both of them. at that time Dewi was very happy to be surrounded by good people.

When she was 18 years old, her grandmother passed away and she had a place to seek refuge. because she was forced to survive, she became a garbage picker, picking up garbage on the street and selling it to someone that need that. she did it for almost 1 year. actually, she still gets donations from the community, but she refuses and wants to stand on her own. Dewi was forced to do it because she won't rely on other people, especially her mother and her stepfather who throws her away like garbage.

At school, she is also supported by her friends and teachers. Dewi is a very diligent, smart and nice girl, even when it is difficult she still accompany her friend with brokenhearted story, she's really demure, very mindful, very kind and helpful.

After graduating from high school, Dewi is eager to continue to college. however, she needed a lot of money to get into college. one of her teachers suggested that she follow step-J to get a scholarship from the government. because she was interested, she signed up for step-j and her teacher explained the points that must be done to get the scholarship. Dewi hopes that this will be the beginning of her bright future.

After the test and others all of requirements, Dewi was accepted at the International Batavia University in the city of Jakarta. she was very happy & suddenly prepare her clothes to go to Jakarta. she will going with 2 people who passed the test.

Their name is Sebastian Rizal and Ajeng Kartika. Sebastian is from Bandung and Ajeng is from Bali. they are only 3 people that selected in International Batavia University from 180,000 participants. 200 participants who passed the round 2 is going to Universitas Indonesia

Dewi was very excited waiting for the bus to pick her up. she is also looking forward to meeting new people. In one hour the bus arrived, people from his village, schoolmates, and teachers met her to see her off for the last time. at that time, Dewi hugged her friends, her teachers, and the people who helped her when she was in trouble. she is very happy to receive this kind of treatment. because the word farewell was painful, making everyone standing there shed tears. they are very proud that one of them can get into the grandest and most expensive university. they were truly proud of Dewi.

Going, Dewi swung her palm hand to everyone outside the bus for last farewell. when she looked inside the bus, there was no one there. " where's the girl that everyone say?" she was very confused at that time. when confused and looking for a seat, she looking seating in the very back seat. she was so confused that she couldn't see clearly and....

"ouch...what the hell are u doing? you wanna i going to die, huh??" the voice came from behind her and it turned out that Dewi had accidentally sat in her body. "ah..... Sorry. i don't see you slept in here. i don't mean it..." she was shocked and standing up because she was unconscious.

When apologizing, the girl didn't hear her because she was too sleepy. she then continued to lie down in the same place again. because Dewi understood, she then sat in the front seat area. because it was night, she fell asleep.

At 3 am, Dewi felt very strange because there was someone who seemed to be holding her hair. She then opened her eyes and she saw a boy in seat next to her. " go away!!! " Dewi was shocked because suddenly there was a guy next to her. " ahhh....sorry my bad. I don't want to waking ya up but i was scary with that woman over there" while showing his finger to the girl who was sitted by Dewi.

"what do you mean, huh SISSY boy? Hahaha" while laughing merrily

Hearing those words, made that guy feel embarrassed and scared. seeing him lethargic face, Dewi defended that boy with the firmness she had. " hehh, don't be like that. It's insult and that's bully. you don't have to bully other people like that, b*tch"

Shocked, she that sit in the back applause her.

'i didn't expect that there was someone who could defend new acquaintances like that'.

That girl approached them and introduced herself to them " sorry of my behavior. i don't want to do like that, i just feel worthless. anyways, my name is Ajeng Kartika and i'm Balinese. y'all can call me Kartika "

" Hello Kartika, my name is Dewi Ayu. I'm Javanese and from Cilacap" she replied by waving her hand as a sign of peace.

" and what about you? why u don't introduce yourself huh? Are you still mad at me?" Ajeng with a little tease to him. he couldn't answer, his mouth was like a choke and he didn't know what to say. feeling strange, Dewi encouraged him by slapping his shoulder while saying it was okay. for some reason she felt better when she was encouraged by Dewi and don't feel surpressed anymore

"my name is Sebastian Rizal. You can call me Sebastian or Rizal whatever ya comfortable with. sorry for being weird, ya know i haven't have friend cause i've been bullied for my entire life so i don't know how to act with friend. btw i'm Sundanese and i live at bandung"

Dewi and Ajeng felt guilty for speaking rudely. they both apologized and wanted to be friends with him. Sebastian was happy because it was the first time he had a friend. he immediately hugged the two of them and cried bitterly while saying thank you.

After hugging, " i just wondering, why'd you said earlier that ya worthless? ya know it's not true. ya are my first friend and ya are worth. don't be thinking like that " he said with shiny eyes as if he wanted to cry. hearing a soft voice enter his ears, making Ajeng cry. he's so happy there are people who think he's worth it. " thanks.. Huuu....Th...a..n....kkk.....yooo..u". cause she cry aloud, the Bus Driver stop the bus and check if there may be something dangerous in there

When checking, it turned out that they were hugging. for some reason, it makes the driver's heart comfortable. he felt that it was something divisive. he then drove the bus again to get to their destination quickly

After stopping crying, Ajeng explained that at school she was shunned, she didn't know why, that's why she tried to bully people so that she could make friends. but during that process, she only got subordinates and not friends. because she didn't want to be lonely, that's why she still behaved like that. Ajeng is happy that she can pass the test and make good friends like them. Dewi and Sebastian also felt the same way. this is the most impressive thing they have experienced. they really don't regret studying to death to enter that university.

Because it was still early in the morning around 4 am, they then decided to go back to sleep. they will arrive in Jakarta in about 3 hours.
